After losing out to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last season’s NFC Championship Game, the Green Bay Packers nearly lost their MVP quarterback in the offseason. But Aaron Rodgers remains in the fold for one more run at an elusive second Super Bowl title, and the Packers certainly have the talent to send him out of Green Bay a winner.

Rodgers is a big reason why coach Matt LaFleur’s first two seasons in Green Bay have both produced 13 regular-season wins, an NFC North title, and an NFC Championship Game appearance. Last season, Rodgers joined Brady, Manning, Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas, and Jim Brown as the only players to be named NFL MVP by the Associated Press three or more times. Only Patrick Mahomes, the NFL betting odds favorite at +500, has better MVP odds entering the season than Rodgers, who comes in at +1000.

With Rodgers still taking the snaps, the Packers will have one of the NFL’s deadliest offenses yet again, thanks to noe of the NFL’s top running backs in Aaron Jones and a receiving corps led by star wideout Davante Adams.

Defensively, the Packers have some room for improvement, but they are not light on talent. In Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith, the Packers have one of the top pass-rushing tandems in the NFL, though Preston recorded only four sacks last season after tallying 12 in his first season in Green Bay.

With this potentially being Rodgers’ last season in Green Bay before he moves on to another team or hangs it up, the Packers face high expectations and high pressure to make a serious run at bringing home the Lombardi Trophy. Only the Buccaneers have better Super Bowl odds among NFC teams, and it won’t be a surprise if we see an NFC Championship Game rematch between those teams come January.
