The Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark will host the Los Angeles Sparks tonight at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Indiana has been surging while Los Angeles is pretty much done for the year. These 2 teams played back at the end of May and the Sparks won 88-82.
Indiana is playing on a whole new level since they 2 teams last played. The Fever are 17-16 and 3rd in the Eastern Conference. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games and 6-1 since the WNBA resumed from the Olympics break. This team is also on a 4-game winning streak.
Caitlin Clark has become an absolute monster on the court, averaging 18.7 points, 8.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game. This team has practiced and become a unit since the start of this season. Fellow starters Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston have been right alongside Clark leading this team.
Defensively, the Fever need some work. They rank 11th in the league for defensive rating, 9th in the league for turnovers and last in steals per game. Luckily, the Sparks are the worst offensive team in the league, so that doesn’t hurt.
Los Angeles will look to hopefully compete vs the streaking Fever
Los Angeles just doesn’t have all the pieces to be a good team. Granted, they lost their star rookie Cameron Brink at the beginning of the season, but this team has shown no signs of life.
They’re record is 7-25 which is the worst in the league. Los Angeles is 2-8 in their last 10 games and are coming off a 16-point loss to the Dream.
Dearica Hamby has been the focal point of this team. She’s averaging 17.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Hamby had a hot start to the season and slowly fell off. Rookie Rickea Jackson has shown signs of hope as she has stepped up.
I think this team could have a bright future. They will have Brink back next season to go along with Hamby and odds are they will have the #1 Draft Pick in Paige Bueckers from UConn.
Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

Hard to go against the Fever right now, especially at home. They’re 9-5 at home this year and are playing in front of sold-out crowds. If that doesn’t get the blood flowing, then I don’t know what does.
Caitlin Clark should continue to tear things up as the Sparks have no answer for her. I expect Mitchell and Boston to also feast in this game. The 12 points seems like a lot, but this game is going to get out of hand.
The Fever have the 4th best offensive ranking and pace in the league. They move the ball around and fast with Clark at the top of the key.
I like Clark to hit 4+ 3-pointers in this game. She has hit the line in 3 of her last 4 games and shoots like crazy to the volume is there. I also like Kelsey Mitchell to get her points which should be around 21 to 22 points.
