The time that we’ve all been waiting for has finally come. The WNBA Finals are here, and we got the matchup we all wanted – the Liberty vs the Aces. After the games they played this year, we know we’re in for a show.
Both teams played 4 games this year, splitting them with 2 wins each. Each win by each team was by a considerable margin, especially from the Liberty. With how much they played each other and the stakes of these games, I don’t think we see any blowouts.
The Aces were the number 1 team in the league and finished with a record of 34-6. New York accounts for 33% percent of the Aces losses. Las Vegas have home court advantage which is huge because they are 19-1 at home this year.
A’ja Wilson put on another MVP caliber year, even though she didn’t win it. She averaged 22.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She played and started all 40 games this year. Wilson is having a ridiculous postseason 25.8 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
Her cast had great seasons as well. Kelsey Plum averaged 18.7 points, Jackie Young averaged 17.5 points and Chelsea Gray averaged 15.3 points per game. This team is built to score and win.
New York had a heck of year themselves, finishing 2nd in the league with a record of 32-8. The Liberty played well on the road this year going 17-3. Their 2 wins vs the Aces were at home, so it will be huge for them to snag a win.
League MVP Breanna Stewart is playing ridiculous, scoring 25+ in her last 2 games to help the Liberty reach the finals. Her cast also played awesome this year and so far, this post season.
Sabrina Ionescu has been her job at the point along with Courtney Vandersloot. Both have been dangerous from 3-point range and on the pass. They’ll need to keep this up to keep the Aces on their toes.
Jonquel Jones has been playing out of her mind. She has had a double-double in all 6 playoffs game so far this year. Expect her to continue to be a problem down low and give A’ja Wilson a tough time. It’s going to be battle between these teams all series.

New York Liberty vs Las Vegas Aces Prediction and Picks
Prediction and Pick: New York Liberty +4.5 (-105) BetUS
Both teams are so hungry and want this so bad. This year they blew each other out, but this is the Finals. Do or die. Winner takes the trophy and loser goes home empty handed.
New York is going to try and do what they do best which is try and take a quick lead. Ionescu, Stewart and Vandersloot will be shooting 3’s and if they can connect early, Vegas could be in trouble.
Jones and Stewart are going to need to clean the boards. Containing Wilson is a tough, but they have done it this year twice, so they know what to do. Vegas’ role players are of course going to be tough to contain as well and do their best to slow New York down.
The Liberty have shown they can win a big game vs the Aces when they won the Commissioners Cup. I expect a close, low scoring game. The homer in me leans New York, but we’ll be taking them with the points in what should be a close game.
Player Prop: Betnijah Laney O15.5 Points (-113) BetUS
How do the sayings go? We ride the wagon until the wheels and doors fall off? Or how about, rinse and repeat? Yep, that’s exactly where we are at with our girl Betnijah.
She has had 20, 20 and 21 in her last 3 games. She has also had 19+ in her last 5 out of 6 games and her last 7 out of 9 games. Betnijah also cleared the line in her last 2 games vs the Aces. This line is so low and we’re going to take advantage of it, especially for this value.
Laney has been a huge part of this offense all year and especially in the playoffs. This has helped the Liberty continue to spread the ball because they can trust each other. Expect her to continue her play and clearing this line for us with ease.
