Well, well, well…lookie what we have here. A FAT WNBA slate with all 12 WNBA teams in action this Sunday!
We go to Atlanta, where the Dream (13-11) host the Washington Mystics (12-12). We have 2 teams who sit next to each other in the 3rd and 4th seed of the Eastern Conference, Atlanta being the 3rd seed.
The Dream were playing great basketball in the beginning of the month. They went on a 6-game winning streak, but to then drop their next 3 out of 4 games. They are 7-3 their last 10 games and look to shake off a loss to the Liberty Thursday night.
Allisha Gray is having the best year of her career in her first year in Atlanta. She is averaging 17.9 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. Her 25-point performance vs the Liberty the other night was possibly the best game of her career.
Rhyne Howard and Cheyenne Parker lead the Dream with Gray, both averaging double digit points this season. Parker is leading the team in rebounding with 7.2 per game and helps make The Dream rank 3rd in the league in rebounding.
Let's go over to the Mystics. They have been sliding in the East the last 6 games, going 2-4. Elena Delle Donne, Ariel Atkins and Shakira Austin have missed all 6 games due to injuries. They have all been ruled out already for this game making it their 7th game in a row.
This Mystics team is deep and gritty although they’ve only pulled out the 2 wins during this injury stretch. Their deep roster has helped them stay in contention.
Natasha Cloud and Brittney Sykes have led the way. Sykes is averaging 19.3 points per game while Cloud has averaged 17.2 points and 6 assists per game.
Who will be the team to right their ship?
These 2 teams have met 3 times this season. The Mystics took the first 2 of these games by double digits and the Dream we able to get a 5-point win in their last meeting in June.
All of the games the Mystics had a full roster, so tomorrow afternoon will be much different. The Mystics are also coming off an embarrassing blowout loss last night vs the Wings.
The Dream need a win just as bad going into this game. They really need to get some W’s under their belt while the Mystics are dealing with these injuries. They have split their last 6 games 3-3.
This is the last game of a 3-game road trip for the Mystics and they don’t want to go back home getting swept. They are 4-8 on the road this season, so that doesn’t bode very well for them.

Washington Mystics vs Atlanta Dream Predictions and Picks
Pick: Dream -5.5 (-110)
Going into this game, the Dream are a better team. They rank 1st in the league in pace and 4th in points per game. They also shoot 35.5% from 3-point range ranking 4th.
Whether or not the Mystics can keep up or not will be the difference of this game. Their team is tired from not only playing shorthanded, but also from traveling. They’ve been on the road since last Sunday which weigh you down, especially playing under these conditions.
The Dream are going to want to do what the Lynx and Wings did – score at a high pace and crash the boards. Ranking 4th in offensive rebounds will help the Dream get those 2nd chance opportunities.
Protecting the ball will be key for the Dream as they rank 2nd to last in the league for turnovers. The Mystics rank 3rd best in the league for turnovers and rank 4th in the league for steals per game, so the Dream will really need to be on their toes.
Give me the Dream -5.5 in this game. I don’t see the Mystics being able to make any adjustments to get past the Dream. I think the Dream cover comfortably.
Player Prop: Allisha Gray O5.5 Rebounds (-113)
Gray has found her place in Atlanta and has been putting up numbers. I love this line vs the Mystics for her and I’m going to tell you why.
Being a key part of this offense, she will be on the floor for the majority of the game to hit this line. She has hit this line in her last 3 of 4 games and will get a lot of opportunities to get her boards again.
With all the injuries, the Mystics are struggling under the glass. I think Gray hits this line easily and cashes this value play for us.
