This year’s WNBA season is winding down, but we still have playoff seeding to clinch. The Atlanta Dream (17-20) will host the Seattle Storm (11-26) and look to get a win to officially clinch their spot in the playoffs.
Atlanta is coming off a tough loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Friday September 1st, so they really need to bounce back. Catching the momentum now with 3 games left is what they need.
Home court will be nice for Atlanta as they play a little better, 10-8 record, in front of the home fans. The Dream are only 3-7 in their last 10 games, but all 3 wins came at home.
Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray and Cheyenne Parker have been carrying this team. Parker has been on fire lately and we’re going to get into that more later. The trio make up for approximately 60% of the teams' productivity when looking at things like points and rebounds per game.
For the Storm, Jewel Loyd and Ezi Magbegor have been the leaders of the team this season. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been enough to be competitive, as the Storm are the 2nd worst team in the league.
These 2 teams have met twice this season, resulting in a split with each team winning a game each. The last game they played, Seattle was able to squeak out a 1 point win. Rhyne Howard had 20 points along with Allisha Gray contributing 17 points.
Cheyenne Parker was held to only 6 points and that was the difference maker. Parker averages 15 points per game, so that difference was the difference of the game.
Atlanta beat Seattle by 10 points back in July. In that game, all of the big 3 for the Dream showed up and they took the W with ease. Question now is, with fire under their rear ends…can they do it again? Let’s get into that part now.

Seattle Storm vs Atlanta Dream Prediction and Picks
Pick: Atlanta Dream -8.5 (-105)
This game is huge for 1 team and that is of course the Atlanta Dream. They really need to win this game to keep the highest seed possible. They hold the tiebreaker with the Mystics, so all they need to do is win.
Howard, Parker and Gray will all be ready. When they all show up, this team is hard to beat. In the one win they had against the Storm, they won by 10 and all 3 ladies had double digit point totals.
I think with playoff seeding on the line, we see a hungry Atlanta team. They have the weapons to take over the game and a lot to play for. They’ll need to come out early and get the lead to kill any momentum Seattle could gain.
Again, this is a must win for the Dream and they’re going to get it. The points don’t scare me – I don’t think the Storm will be able to keep up as long as Atlanta brings their A game…and they will.
Player Prop: Cheyenne Parker O14.5 Points (-113)
Cheyenne has been taking no prisoners and the Dream need for it to continue. She has not only hit this line in her last 4 games straight, but she’s also hit it in her last 5 of 6 and last 6 of 8.
She’s had 20, 25, 24, and 22 points in those last 4 games. She has been such a dominating presence, and no one can seem to hold her down.
She will be tested by Ezi Magbegor, who will be the big body to guard her. In the 2 games this season, Parker hit the line once.
Between how hot she has been playing as of late mixed with how big of a game this is equals another dominate performance by Parker. Another Nugget…20+ points (+290).
