The Washington Mystics and Indiana Fever have dealt with some significant struggles in the first several weeks of the WNBA season, but the two teams are generating some positive vibes as they prepare to face off tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (7:00 pm ET, NBA TV).
After beginning the season with a dozen consecutive losses, the Mystics (2-12) have won their last two games. They are still last in the overall WNBA standings, but they are only 2.5 games behind the Fever (5-10) for eighth place.
Indiana has moved into that spot with three wins in four games and enters tonight’s contest having won consecutive games for the first time this season.
This will be the Fever’s last home game before embarking on a five-game road swing that will see them face the Dream, Sky, Storm, Mercury, and Aces. They won’t be expected to experience a great deal of success on that stretch, so a win tonight will help minimize the damage done if they do struggle for wins on the road.

Washington Mystics vs Indiana Fever Betting Analysis
Are the Fever starting to gel and learn how to win together?
In Sunday’s 91-83 win over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky—which was the most watched WNBA game since 2001—the Fever shot 56.5% from the field and 44.4% from three. They got 15+ points from four players, with Caitlin Clark (23 points, 7 of 11 FG, 3 of 7 3PT, 6 of 6 FT, nine assists, eight rebounds) and Aliyah Boston (19 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks, four assists) leading the way.
That performance followed Thursday’s 91-84 win over the Atlanta Dream, in which Boston (27 points, 13 rebounds) and Kelsey Mitchell (24 points) combined for over half of Indiana’s points.
The Mystics have a lot to feel good about right now as well, even though the injury bug continues to be an issue. They beat the Dream a week ago Tuesday in Brittney Sykes’ brief return to action, then edged the Sky on Friday with Sykes back on the shelf after suffering an injury in the fourth quarter of the win over Atlanta.
I’m not overly enamored with taking either side of the spread in this one, but I really like the over. When they met in D.C. on June 7, the Fever won 85-83, with Clark scoring a season-high 30 points and draining seven triples.
The Mystics scored 80+ points only twice in their first ten games but have scored 80+ in each of their last four games. In that stretch, they are scoring an average of 85.3 PPG.
The Fever, meanwhile, have scored 80+ points in five of their seven home games and have hit the 80-point mark in nine of their 15 games this season. Also, the total has gone over 167.5 11 times in Indiana’s 15 games, including six home games.
