In an important matchup in the Western Conference, two struggle teams will face off tonight in Minneapolis as the Minnesota Lynx host the Los Angeles Sparks (8:00 pm ET, Amazon Prime Video).
Currently, the Lynx (9-12, 4-7 home) are in seventh in the WNBA standings, a half-game ahead of the Chicago Sky (8-12) and a game and a half ahead of the Sparks (7-13, 2-7 away).
A win tonight for the Sparks would not only end their six-game losing streak, but it would also boost their hopes to reach the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2020.
As for the Lynx, a win would end their three-game losing streak and strengthen their grip on the seventh seed. That is a valuable spot to be in, because finishing seventh would likely mean avoiding a playoff matchup with the Las Vegas Aces, the best team in the WNBA.
Who will take the win tonight at Target Center? My prediction and picks for this matchup are below, but first, let’s take a look at Sparks vs Lynx odds, courtesy of Bovada.

Can Collier Call on Some Support to Stop Lynx Skid?
After starting the season 0-6, the Lynx actually managed to right the ship and then some, winning nine of 12 games to move to .500.
Three of those wins in that stretch came against the Sparks, while two each came against the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm and the other two came against the Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics. Of those five teams, four–the Storm, Mercury, Sparks, and Fever–make up the bottom four teams in the current WNBA standings.
So, it’s perhaps no surprise then that running into the better teams in the league would be a momentum-stopper for the Lynx. And after two ugly home losses before the WNBA All-Star Game–a 113-89 loss to the Aces, followed by a 107-67 loss to the Dallas Wings–Minnesota returned to action on Tuesday with a nine-point loss at Atlanta.
It was a closer result than the previous two games, but a big game for Napheesa Collier still went unrewarded. In 38 minutes, she had 35 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. Kayla McBride, who scored 12 points, was the only other Lynx player to score in double figures.
Collier, who is third in the WNBA in scoring (21.9 PPG) and tenth in rebounding (7.8 RPG) should have another big game tonight. But this one is likely to be rewarded, given what she and the Lynx have done against the Sparks this season.
- 91-86 win vs Sparks (6/11): 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists
- 77-72 win at Sparks (6/16): 25 points, six rebounds
- 67-61 win at Sparks (6/20): 26 points, 14 rebounds, three steals
Los Angeles Sparks vs Minnesota Lynx Prediction and Picks
Prediction for Sparks vs Lynx: Lynx to win
Picks for Sparks vs Lynx: Lynx ML (-140) & Napheesa Collier to score 25+ points (+130)
Though both of these teams are currently riding losing streaks, Sparks vs Lynx betting looks pretty straightforward to me.
Los Angeles has been terrible away from home this season, and they have dropped four in a row on the road as part of the skid that will be extended to seven games tonight.
Collier’s big game on Tuesday night may have not helped her team pull out a win against the hottest team in the league–the Dream have won seven straight games–but she will be at the center of a streak-breaking performance for the Lynx tonight.
