After a dominant run over the first two months of the WNBA season, the Las Vegas Aces will look to keep it going tonight as they return to action against the Seattle Storm (10:00 pm ET, Amazon Prime Video).
The Aces (19-2, 8-2 away) haven’t played since a 97-78 win over the Los Angeles Sparks eight days ago, though the team had significant representation at Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game, which was held at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
Will the league’s best team return by routing Seattle (4-16, 2-9 home) for the third time this season? My prediction and picks are below, but before we get to that, let’s take a look at Aces vs Storm odds, courtesy of Bovada.
Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Odds
Spread
- Las Vegas Aces -17 (-120)
- Seattle Storm +17 (+100)
Over/Under
- Over 170 (-120)
- Under 170 (+100)
Moneyline
- Las Vegas Aces -10000
- Seattle Storm +1600
Struggling Storm Likely to Fold Against Aces Yet Again
The Storm had some representation at the All-Star Game as well, with Jewell Loyd and Ezi Magbegor both being picked by Breanna Stewart for her team.
Magbegor had two points, four rebounds, and two assists in 12 minutes, but Loyd, the league’s leading scorer, stole the show by spectacularly showing off of her perimeter prowess. With ten made threes and a record-breaking 31 points, she claimed All-Star Game MVP honors in Team Stewart’s 143-127 win.
That performance will likely prove to be the highest point of the season for Loyd, as her efforts haven’t been able to keep the Storm from languishing at the bottom of the WNBA standings in their first post-Stewart season.
They have been competitive in many of their games, but their two worst losses of the season have come against the Aces. They opened the season on May 20 with a 105-64 loss in Seattle, and they suffered a 96-63 loss in last month’s trip to Vegas.
Will tonight’s game in Seattle be more of the same? It looks highly likely. The Storm have lost seven straight games since a win over the Phoenix Mercury on June 24, and even if Loyd is making it rain as prolifically as she did in the All-Star Game, the Storm are no match for the Aces, who have scored 113, 98, and 97 points in three wins since scoring only 78 in their loss to the Dallas Wings earlier this month.
Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Prediction and Picks
Prediction for Aces vs Storm: Aces to win
Picks for Aces vs Storm: Aces -17 (-120) & Jackie Young to score 20+ points (+175)
Young has scored 20 or more points ten times in 21 games this season, including both previous matchups with the Storm. In the season opener, she had 23 points in 26 minutes, while she had 28 points in 27 minutes in the most recent meeting last month. Look for her to have another stellar showing against Seattle in another blowout win for the Aces.
In addition to her odds to score 20+ points, Young is +500 to score 25 or more points. She may well not be on the court long enough or gets enough shots to get to 25 points, but the value there is outstanding when Young has already torched the Storm twice this season.
Where to Bet on Aces vs Storm
The Aces vs Storm betting odds mentioned in this article came from Bovada, but they aren’t the only sports betting site out there offering WNBA odds.
There are a number of online sportsbooks that are good for betting on the WNBA, but the above books are four that we highly recommend.
