We have a nice 4 game afternoon slate in front of us this Sunday in the WNBA. We’re going to the ATL where the Indiana Fever (7-20) will be taking on the Atlanta Dream (14-13).
Atlanta is on a 2-game skid right now. They were handed back-to-back 20-point beat downs. One was by the Aces 2 games ago and then they fell victim to Diana Taurasi night two nights ago.
The Dream are 5-5 in their last 10 games and 7-6 at home this year. The Fever are coming in off a 16-point loss to the Connecticut Sun. It puts them at 2-8 in their last 10 games as well as 5-11 on the road this year.
Indiana sits in last place of the Eastern Conference while the Dream are in 3rd place. Atlanta has been able to take advantage of the Mystics injury problems and move up a spot. They’re going to need to continue to win while their players are still out.
The 2 teams have met twice this season splitting the games with 1 win each. The Fever won the 1st game by 3-points in late May and the Dream won the 2nd game by 6-points in early June.
Can the Fever keep up with the fast-paced Dream?
One of the keys to the Fever being able to contend will be if they can play fast-paced basketball. Indiana ranks 11th in the league in pace, which is a problem.
They are led by guard Kelsey Mitchell, forward NaLyssa Smith and rookie F-C Aliyah Boston. Boston has been a huge part of their offense since joining the team this year. She is averaging 14.3 points per game as well as 7.9 rebounds per game.
The Dream on the other hand have their own core that will run you off the court. Guard Rhyne Howard, Forward Cheyenne Parker and newest addition guard Allisha Gray have led this high-powered offense.
They rank 5th in points per game and are 1st in the league pace. Atlanta also rebounds the ball well, ranking 3rd in the league with 36.3 per game.
Indiana is really going to need big games from all 3 players. Role players Erica Wheeler and Emma Cannon will need to do their part as well. Cannon is coming off 2 back-to-back double-digit performances, so look for her to make an impact.

Indiana Fever vs Atlanta Dream Predictions and Picks
No Side or Total, but 2 Players Props!
I won’t lie, I’m torn here on a side and total. My gut thinks the Dream win, but I’m not sure if they cover 7.5 points. Both games this year have been under that number.
For the total, I originally leaned over based on the 2 previous games played, however, neither team has been a scoring machine. Leaves me on the fence of the over after looking at the previous matchups, but the under for current play.
Pick: Allisha Gray O17.5 (-115)
Allisha is having a breakout year in her first season with the Dream. She is averaging 17.6 points per game, just edging out Rhyne Howard for the leader on the team.
In the 2 previous matchups, Gray had 19 and 25 points respectively. She will be challenged by Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell who will have their hands full.
In her 27 games started this season, Gray is shooting 47.9% from the field. She shot 69% and 50% from the field vs Indiana, so if she can keep that up, she should get her points without a problem.
Player Prop: Rhyne Howard O15.5 Points (-130)
Rhyne is the leader of the 3 headed Monster of this team that is herself, Gray and Parker.
She is averaging 17.3 points per game this season and has started all 27 games this year for the Dream. Howard is also averaging 32.6 minutes per game.
In the two games they played this season, Rhyne has cleared this number without a problem, having 21 and 25 in the 2 games.
This line is low in my opinion, so we’re going to go ahead and pay the juice man here.
