Here we go into Game 2 after the Aces won by 14 points in a solid Game 1 win. The Las Vegas Aces (34-6) will host the Dallas Wings (22-18) again for a huge game. Dallas is really going to need to steal a win in Vegas, but we’ll get into that.
In Game 1, the Aces were led by their star forward A’ja Wilson who had 34 points and 8 rebounds. Looking to repeat as league MVP, Wilson will look to continue her performance from Game 1 and all season.
Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young also had big games. Plum put up 25 points while Young had a double-double, with 19 points and 10 rebounds. These ladies are part of the core of this team and have been effective all season.
The entire Wings team contributed in Game 1. Satou Sabally led the way with 16 points and also had 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Arike Ogunbowale, Natasha Howard and Teaira McCowan all had decent games, but it wasn’t enough.
The stats for the last 10 games for each team side by side are extremely interesting. They match up evenly for just about every offensive category from points to steals. There is one big thing that stands out and that is points allowed to opponents.
Las Vegas is allowing an average of 78 points per game to their opponents while Dallas is allowing an average of 88 points per game. Dallas allowed 97 points in Game 1 and their defense now goes under the microscope.
Can Dallas find enough defensive power to contend with Vegas?
The Wings have plenty of size to contend under the rim. They led the league this year in rebounding averaging 38 per game but were still out rebounded in Game 1.
Bigs Natasha Howard and Teaira McCowan both have done their jobs cleaning the glass this year. Howard averaged 8 per game and McCowan led the team with 9.1 per game. Satou Sabally also averaged 8 rebounds per game this year.
These 3 will need to try their best to keep Wilson away from the boards, especially on offense. Second chance opportunities are so key to staying in this game, but they have to get in front of Wilson and Young.
It’s going to take everything Dallas has to get these wins this series. They struggled vs the Aces this year, only winning 1 of the 4 games and by 2 points. In that win, Howard and McCowan combined for 23 rebounds while Wilson was held to just 5.

Dallas Wings vs Las Vegas Aces Prediction and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Las Vegas Aces -10.5 (-110)
Going off Game 1 and the games this season, it’s hard to not take the Aces here. They are the better team, as we all know, and they’re continuing to show it.
In the 3 games they won during the regular season vs Dallas, they won in double digit fashion last Game 1. I expect the Aces core 4 to be in full force in Game 2 looking to replicate Game 1.
The Aces should come out shooting and early. Both Plum and Young both hit 5 3-pointers each last game. I think they, as well as Chelsea Gray, will be doing what they can to move the ball around and feed Wilson as much as possible.
These are only 5 games series, so the Aces are going to want to win this one. They will then go into Dallas with the Wings backs against the wall in an elimination game. Not afraid of the points – I expect Vegas to roll again and take a 2-0 series lead.
Player Prop: A’ja Wilson O24.5 Points (-120)
The woman on a missing for another ring. A’ja has had 34 points and 38 points in her last 2 games. She is definitely heating up and at the right time.
Wilson has hit this line in 6 out of her last 7 games. Out of those 6 games, she had 30+ points in each game. She also plays much better at home. A’ja has hit her last 6 out of 7 home games including the 1 playoff game.
She should be shooting plenty and all over the board’s vs the Wings for those 2nd chance opportunities.
This is a perfect spot for her to continue her play. The line isn’t too juicy, and the number could be a gift if she keeps putting up 30+ points.
