We have a beautiful WNBA slate in front of us tonight with 5 games. The Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings will be going head-to-head at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
The battle of the number 2 seeds tonight as the Sun and Wings each hold the 2nd seed in their respective conferences. The Wings come in with the high-powered offense who clean the offensive glass and the Sun shoot the ball well while playing great defense.
DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, and Alyssa Thomas lead the 17-6 Sun team this season. They’ve currently won their last 2 games and are 7-3 their last 10 games.
Bonner is currently leading the team, averaging 18.2 PPG and 5.3 RPG. Jones is right behind her averaging 15.9 PPG and 8.2 RPG.
The difference maker for this team is Thomas, who is averaging almost a Triple Double! Her numbers are 14.8 PPG, 8 APG, and 9.6 RPG, which is extremely impressive. She could end up in the likes of Russell Westbrook if she finishes the year averaging a Triple Double and would be the first Female to do it.
With all that offense, the Sun know how to hold the line. They rank 2nd in the league in Defensive Rating with 98.6.
Wings coming in hot on 5 game win streak
The Wings are 13-9 this year, but a remarkable 8-2 at home. That’s pretty damn good. They’re 7-3 in their last 10 games and riding a 5-game win streak.
They are led by star guard Arike Ogunbowale, Natasha Howard and Satou Sabally. Ogunbowale is the center piece of the offensive, averaging 22 points per game. Howard and Sabally each average 18 points per game.
During the win streak, the last 3 games they have won by double digits. On July 12th, they beat the Lynx to death by 40 points. Someone should probably still go check on them.
This team thrives off their offense. They currently score the 2nd most points per game (86) in the league and lead the league in rebounds (39.3) per game.
In the first 2 games of the 5-game winning streak, they only won the games by 1 point each. One game was against the Aces, which was a huge win for them.
The other game was to the Fever where in the 2nd quarter they just forgot how to play basketball. Luckily, they got it together and were able to hang on for the win.
These 2 teams met once earlier this year with the Sun winning the game by 6 points. It was on June 5th, so very interested to see how they face off further into the season.

Connecticut Sun vs Dallas Stars Prediction and Picks
Pick: Sun +2 (-110)
The Sun aren’t the 2nd best in the East for no reason and we can’t forget the defending Conference champs. These girls know how to go out there and win games. They do have 4 more wins than Dallas.
The books are disrespecting the Sun with this line. They are right behind the Wings in all offensive categories. The one category that the Sun need to stay on top of is rebounding. The Wings absolutely dominate the boards.
With the come up of the New York Liberty, the Sun want people to not forget they are the team to beat. This is a perfect game for them to make a statement and we’re getting 2.5 points? Sign me up!
Player Prop: DeWanna Bonner O18.5 Points (-113)
DeWanna has been leading this Sun team this year. She has hit her points line in her last 4 out of her last 5 games. She has 22 points in the game earlier this season.
The 6’4” guard out of Auburn is a force to be reckoned with. Her average of 18.2 points per game has the books right on par. Put that along with her current play and give me this 18.5 all day. I expect her to have 20+ points.
