The UEFA Champions League kicks off it’s Group Stage on Tuesday as Paris Saint-German hosts Borussia Dortmund.
These two are in the so called “Group of Death” as they are paired with AC Milan and Newcastle United to round out the quad.
This will be an interesting group to watch, and it kicks off tomorrow afternoon.
Let’s break this game down!

How Will These Teams Open Up Group Stage?
Both these teams have had slow starts to their regular seasons.
Borussia Dortmund is 2-0-2 in the Bundesliga with 8 points after 4 games, but they are wishing they had won all four games.
PSG is 2-2-1 and sit in 5th in Ligue 1 play. Following the departures of Messi and Neymar, they are feeling the absence on offense.
Paris Saint-German lost on Friday to Nice, and will hope to have a good showing as they host Dortmund.
Being that this game is in Paris, I lean with PSG as they know all Group Stage games are crucial in their gauntlet of a quad. On the flip side, Dortmund has plenty of offensive fire power to keep up with their opponent’s attack.
Both teams are coming off high scoring affairs, so here’s where my money is at.
The Pick: PSG/Borussia Dortmund 1H Under 1 (+170) Bovada
Like I said, both teams are coming off high scoring affairs, and that trend happened in the 1st half as well.
With a total set at 3.5, the books are telling me they expect goals in this one. But it is juiced to the under.
Kylian Mbappe has scored in 4 straight games, and new forward Marco Asensio is fitting in well with this PSG lineup.
Dortmund will look to counter attack but also hold their back line against the PSG attack, especially in this first 45 minutes.
This is the opening game of Group Stage, and both teams will be a little cautious, since they have not seen each other since 2020.
For push potential, I think this first half stays scoreless, and worst case, we get our money back if PSG goes into the locker room up 1-0.
