EURO 2024 Quarterfinal Preview: Matchups, Betting Odds & Predictions

The EURO 2024 is down to its final eight teams as the Quarterfinals begin Friday in Germany. We have 5 teams remaining within the Top 8 spots of the world, with 7 of the 8 remaining within the Top 20, our outlier being Turkey ranked 42nd. However, there can only be one, and it is clear that one side of the bracket is very much stacked to the high heavens.

The EURO 2024 Quarterfinals are set

As you can see, this bracket is a bit lopsided. On the left side, we have the young studs of Spain (8th) taking on our hosts, Germany (16th), with the winner facing either Kylian Mbappe and France (2nd) or Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal (6th). Three top 8 squads remain within 4 spots on the bracket, with either the number 6 or number 2 team in the world being eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

On the other side, we have the Dutch (7th) facing our Cinderella, Turkey (42nd), with last EURO Runner Ups, England (5th) trying to keep their hopes alive against the Swiss (19th). I have been high on the Dutch since the beginning, and think they have a clear cut path to the final, assuming they don’t overlook Turkey. It would not surprise me at all to see the Swiss knock out England after their miraculous comeback against Slovenia.

From the start of this tournament, I have had my eye on three teams. Feel free to check me here if you want, but in my EURO 2024 Preview, I said there were just three teams I liked as early winners. Here they are below.

• England (+300) now (+375)
• Spain (+800) now (+400)
• Netherlands (+1800) now (+650)

Not to toot my own horn again, but in my knockout round preview, I correctly predicted 7 of 8 teams advancing to the Quarterfinals, with my apologizes to Turkey, I was not familiar with your game. In that knockout round preview, I had Spain beating Portugal and the Netherlands besting the Swiss in the Semifinals, and that is exactly how I feel now, with one change.

I trust Spain to beat Germany, as I believe they have looked like the best team in this entire tournament every single game. I had the Netherlands over Austria, but I also have them over Turkey with ease, as the Dutch have handled business so far. I’m sorry England, but I think your EURO dreams end on the feet of the Swiss, as this Dark Horse has been incredibly impressive all tournament long.

As for France vs Portugal, I initially leaned with Ronaldo and company, but now am going to the other way. I think France played very well against Belgium, and their backline looked strong, holding on, while the offense eventually broke through. My lean is with France in a tough fought game, however I will not be looking at betting them, and will probably bet the under in that match on Friday.

Other than that, nothing has changed. I see Spain over France, and the Netherlands over the Swiss, with Spain beating my Dutch in the EURO 2024 Final, 2-1 in 90 minutes.
