We head into the busy month for the English Premier League and have another packed weekend slate. The table has shifted a bit over the past few weeks with Manchester City and Tottenham falling from the top spots.
Arsenal has taken over the league with a 11-3-1 record and 36 points. They lead Liverpool by 2 point and Aston Villa by 4 points. Manchester City comes in next with 30 points and Tottenham has slipped with only 27 points.
With the mid-week games returning, we had some surprises this week. New Castle lost to Everton 3-0, Aston Villa beat Manchester City 1-0 and Arsenal just escaped Luton by a score of 4-3. Tottenham lost again to West Ham this time. They are 0-1-4 in their last 5 games.
The weekend games in front of are pretty stacked. It kicks off nice and early Saturday morning and ends mid-morning Sunday. Obviously, there are not games straight through, but you know what I mean. Let’s check out the fixtures:
We get kicked off with Liverpool visiting Crystal Palace for the 1st game. Later in the day we have Manchester United hosting Bournemouth and Aston Villa taking on Arsenal at Village Park Stadium. Just a brief look at these games without diving too deep would be Liverpool takes care of business, Manchester United will squeeze out their 5th win in 6 games and Aston Villa and Arsenal draw.
On Sunday, we have Chelsea taking on Everton, Fulham vs West Ham and Tottenham hosting Newcastle. We’re going to talk about the Fulham vs West Ham game and the Spurs vs Newcastle. Both extremely close matches that include 4 really good teams. Each matchup should be really close and let’s get into it.
Fulham vs West Ham Prediction, Odds and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Over 2.5 Goals + Both Teams to Score (-101)
We should have what we call in hockey, a “barn burner” on our hands here. These 2 teams' matchup very well against each other. The average almost the same numbers for goals scored, shots and shots on target per game.
Fulham (5-3-7) sits 3 spots below West Ham (7-3-5) on the table. They are currently 2-0-3 in their last 5 games and coming off a huge 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Despite the losses, they are averaging approximately 2.5 goals per game in their last 6 games. Fulham will be looking to carry that momentum into this game at home.
West Ham on the other hand is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games. Thursday, they played Tottenham and squeaked out a 2-1 win. They drew against Crystal Palace on Sunday but won their 4 previous games. West Ham is averaging just about 2 goals per game over this 6-game stretch.
Both teams are going to be looking for the win in this game. A draw just isn’t going to cut it. I expect both teams to come out firing and get shots on net. I (unofficially) lean with West Ham to take this game, but a draw is very likely. One thing I know, is there will be goals and from both ends.

Tottenham vs Newcastle Prediction, Odds and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Both Teams to Score + Heung-Min Son 1+ SOT (-111)
We have a head-to-head matchup of 2 teams separated by 1 point in the standings. Tottenham is on a horrible stretch right now with a record of 0-1-4 in their last 5 games. Although it’s been a rough patch, they have scored in all 5 games.
Newcastle has suffered 3 loses in their last 6 games going 2-1-3 in total. They just took a bad loss the other day to Everton by a score of 3-0. Facing another team in a rut, this is a great bounce back spot for them. Tottenham is a tough opponent, but they can get the job done.
I believe we see either a 1-1 or 2-1 finish in this game. I’m really not sure who takes this game, but I do know that if Tottenham wants a chance at winning, then Son is going to need to shoot. He should easily get us the 1 shot on target. The BTTS may be a little sweaty, but I think they get it done for us.
