English Premier League Predictions, Odds & Best Bets (1/15)

We’ve got some Hump Day action on the pitch, so we dove into the English Premier League slate to figure out our best bets for today! Across the pond we have four games slated for some afternoon soccer action.

Wednesday’s EPL Best Bets

Everton vs Aston Villa Best Bets

Best Bet: Everton Draw No Bet (+140) BetOnline

Now, backing Everton isn’t necessarily high up on my priority list, but this is more of a fade of Villa on the road and in the EPL. Sure, Aston Villa wants to perform well, but they sit in the Top 8 already, have several games left to push for the Top 4, and they are in a great spot in the UEFA Champions League. With the UCL starting back up next week, I could see Villa taking it easy, resting some players, and focusing on the task at hand next week.

Aston Villa has been without Pau Torres for some time now, but keeper Emi Martinez is also listed as doubtful and will likely not play. Villa has lost their last two matches on the road in the Premier League, getting shutout by Newcastle, 3-0 while losing to Nottingham Forest, 2-1. Everton is down in the table, but they have shown up during big games.

Everton is coming off an easy win at home in the FA Cup. Recently, they have played Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City, drawing in all of those games, and today I could see them catching Villa in a game that doesn’t have as much meaning to them. Give me Everton on the road for plus money if they win, and a push if they escape with a draw.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Best Bets

Best Bet: Arsenal ML/Under 3.5 (+140) BetOnline

We are backing Arsenal and their defense at home today. Sure, Tottenham is a worthy opponent, but the Gunners are a completely different animal when they are at home. This is especially true on the defensive end.

Arsenal has shutout their last four EPL opponents at home, winning 3 of those 4 matches as well (nil-nil draw with Everton). They need at least one point to stay on pace with Nottingham Forest for 2nd place on the table, and three points would give them a cushion in that spot. I see them coming very fired up, even without Saka, and being able to win this low scoring game.

The Gunners will most likely be without Riccardo Calafiori and Jurriën Timber at the fullback position, meaning Myles Lewis-Skelly and Oleksandr Zinchenko will have to step up in their absence. I think they are up for the challenge, and I certainly believe Arsenal wins this game at home, but doesn’t let it get out of hand.

Tottenham’s list of injuries is quite long, including forwards Richarlison and Timo Werner, midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, and defenders Ben Davies, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. With the JV squad getting the call on the road, I don’t think the Spurs will put up much of an offensive fight.
