It’s a light schedule around the NHL with only three games scheduled for Wednesday, March 20. Two of those matchups are airing on TNT, including when the Los Angeles Kings (35-22-11) host the Minnesota Wild (34-27-8) at crypto.com Arena for a 10 p.m. ET clash.

Both sides are looking for more momentum as they each picked up wins last night. The Wild notched a 4-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks as they continued their road trip while Anze Kopitar’s two-goal performance helped lift the Kings to a 6-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Will Minnesota keep the good vibes going on the road? Or will Los Angeles successfully defend home ice?
Only time will tell, so let’s discuss tonight’s contest (and its betting opportunities) by getting into my Wild vs. Kings NHL prediction and best bets.

Wild vs Kings NHL Prediction & Pick (3/20):
Things didn’t go the way that the Wild planned when they met the Kings for the first (and only) time this season at Xcel Energy Center five months ago. Minnesota took a 2-1 lead early in the first period but couldn’t hold on as Los Angeles left St. Paul with a 7-3 blowout win.
The outcome wasn’t anything new for the Kings, who’ve now won four of their last six showdowns with the Wild.
Having said that, that was over half a season ago and a lot has changed since then. For instance, the Wild are red-hot heading into tonight’s contest, going 6-0-2 across their last eight games while having not lost in regulation since March 2.
Unsurprising, Kirill “The Thrill” Kaprizov has been the Wild’s best player during that stretch, leading the team in both goals (10) and points (14).
Kirill Kaprizov continues to find ways to be the Wild’s best player.
While the Kings have been playing better than they were earlier this season, they haven’t exactly been perfect lately. They’ve played to a 4-4 SU record over the last eight games and have consecutive outings just once since Feb. 22.
Speaking of which, the Kings also struggle when playing consecutive games, going 2-7 SU (22.2%) when playing with zero days of rest this season. For reference, the Wild are 4-8 SU (33.3%) in the second half of back-to-backs.
Marc-André Fleury’s presence between the pipes also gives the Wild a clear edge. Despite his 40th birthday nearing, Fleury continues to be one of the NHL’s best goaltenders, going 9-2-1 with a 1.93 goals-against average, .928 save percentage, and two shutouts in his last 13 games.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen which version of David Rittich shows up for the Kings. Although the 31-year-old netminder boasts a decent 2.85 GAA in his eight previous starts, he only has a .893 SV% in those games after finishing with a sub-.900 SV% five times.
Marc-Andre Fleury is the NHL’s Third Star of the week. The #mnwild goalie went 2-0-1 with a 0.97 goals-against average, .961 save percentage and one shutout in three games. He’s 9-2-1 in 14 appearances since Jan. 13

After both clubs won last night, I’m taking the Wild to prevail this evening. The Kings tend to struggle after playing the night before and I see that trend continuing given Rittich’s inconsistent play. It might be a sloppy game, but I like Minnesota’s chances of getting revenge after that lopsided loss in October.
I’m also fairly confident with that pick, so let’s back the Wild on the moneyline before moving on to the best player prop bet.

Best Wild vs Kings NHL Player Prop (3/20)
Sometimes it’s best to just ride the hot hand, which is why we’re going with a Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal for the best prop tonight.

Kaprizov has racked up 36 goals through 62 games this season, which includes 10 in his last eight outings alone. He found the back of the net in all but one of those matchups and heads into tonight’s showdown on a five-game goal streak. That’s without mentioning how he scored in three of his last four road games, too.
With nine goals in 15 career meetings with the Kings, it’s easy to imagine Kaprizov lighting the lamp again tonight.
