See Picks & Statistics For The GameGames Here. We. Go. Tonight, one of the best matchups in all of sports is upon us once again down in Dallas, Game 7. The Stars host the Vegas Golden Knights in the a winner-takes-all final contest of this series, and what a whirlwind it was.
Let’s take a look down memory lane at this series.
Golden Knights vs Stars Series History
Games 1 and 2
The Golden Knights took the first two games on the road in Dallas. They won Game 1 by a score of 4-3, but only totaled 15 shots on goal. They jumped out to an early lead and only let Dallas get it within 1 late in the 3rd period and held on. In Game 2, Dallas found a 1-0 lead after nearly 17 minutes of play, but the Knights tied it up before the end of the 1st period and never looked back. Vegas ended up scoring 3 unanswered goals and winning 3-1.
Games 3 and 4
Then we went back to Vegas, where the road team stole both games once again! After leading 2-0 midway through the 2nd period, Dallas let up two goals as the Knights tied it. Following a scoreless 3rd, we headed to OT, where Wyatt Johnston won it for the Stars after 16 minutes of extra time. Dallas outshot the Knights 46-34 in Game 3. After the that thriller, the Stars looked much more focused.
In Game 4, the Stars found themselves down 1-0, but equalized before the end of the first, and down 2-1 early in the 2nd period. Dallas secured 2 goals in the 2nd period, leading 3-2 going into the 3rd, and sealed it with an empty netter to win 4-2. Back to Dallas we went for Game 5, where we finally had a home team win.
Games 5 and 6
The Stars won 3-2, making it 3 straight wins in the series after dropping the first two. Again, they were down 1-0 early, but battled back to be tied at 2 after the first. A 2nd period goal from Jason Robertson won the game for Dallas, who went back to Vegas with a chance to move on. But the Knights had other plans.
In Game 6, with their backs against the wall, Adin Hill stopped all 23 shots to record a shutout, as the Knights put up 30 shots and finally found the back of the net twice in the 3rd period to win 2-0 and force the Game 7 we are blessed with tonight.
It all comes down to this.

Which Team Moves on in the NHL Playoffs Tonight?
This series is as tight as it can get. The Golden Knights are outscoring the Stars 15-14 in 6 games this series, but the Stars have peppered the net more. They are outshooting VGK 176-166, but like I said, these teams are neck and neck.
Obviously these teams are tied up at 3 games a piece since we see Game 7 tonight, and what’s intriguing to me is how juicy this under is. At BetOnline, Under 5.5 is priced at (-135), meaning they really think we see 5 goals or less. This number has gone under in 4 of 6 games this series, and the past 2, totaling just 7 goals in the L2 contests.
I’ve got to think Vegas puts Adin Hill between the posts, as he has a .938 Save Percentage in the 2 games that he has played, including that shutout 2 nights ago. He’s stopped 45/48 shots and allowed just 1.5 goals per game, and Jake Oettinger isn’t far behind him. The Stars goalie has played all 6 games, posting a .921 save percentage with a 2.1 GA/G. With both teams averaging under 30 shots per game this series, I’ll back the under tonight.
Vegas Golden Knights vs Dallas Stars Best Bets
Best Bet: VGK/DAL Under 5.5 (-135) BetOnline
We’re rooting for defense, conservative hockey, and great goaltending. You could also say we are hoping for a slow paced, boring game. I gave you all the goalie stats, so I’ll spare you the details again, but I really think these keepers stand on their heads and protect the net tonight in Game 7.
Both defenses allow less than 30 shots per game this season, and that’s what we’ve been getting in the playoffs. I think we see an increased focus on blocked shots and limiting scoring chances from both sides, leading to a relatively easy night for the goaltenders.
Give me the under in Game 7 tonight.
