Stanley Cup Finals Series Recap
The Golden Knights lead the Panthers 3-1 heading into Las Vegas for Game 5. The Knights won the first two games in Vegas in somewhat dominating fashion. They won 5-2 and 7-2 in those games, and looked like they might finish the sweep in Florida.
In Game 3, the Knights were up 2-1 late thinking they might go up 3 games to none, when Matthew Tkachuk scored late in the 3rd Period to tie the game. The Panthers would go on to win in overtime thanks to a goal by Carter Verhaegae.
In Game 4, the Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead within two minutes of Puck Drop. Vegas would extend that lead to 3-0 by the middle of the second, and would lead 3-1 going into the 3rd Period. Aleksander Barkov scored early in the 3rd to get within one, but it was not enough and the Knights took Game 4 by a score of 3-2.
Can the Panthers extend their season another game? Or will the Knights hoist the trophy in front of their home crowd?

SCF Game 5 Prediction & Best Bet
Unfortunately for hockey fans, I think the NHL season comes to a close tonight.
The Golden Knights have simply been the better team in all four games of this series. I’m not saying the Panthers got lucky in Game 3, but Vegas could’ve won that game just as easily, and I wouldn’t be talking about Game 5 right now.
I like the Knights to roll, and I think they do so in 60 minutes, however I will not be on them in regulation.
We’re shooting for the moon and taking VGK -1.5 (+160)
Game 5 Player Prop
Jonathan Marchessault Point (-165)
At -165 this is approaching unplayable juice, but I still love it for a parlay piece. Right hand up, I will be paying the juice man and playing this straight as well as finding a nice pairing for it.
Marchessault is on a tear, so again, here are the stats that have been repeated during his 9 game point streak:
- Hits in 59% of games this season
- Hits in 67% of games in playoffs
- Hit in 9 straight games
- Hit in 12 of L14 games
- 22 Points in L14 games
The man is on a tear, and I will ride this hot hand for the rest of this season.
