All eyes are on the Edmonton Oilers to see if they can force one more final contest when they host the Florida Panthers for Game 6 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final on Friday, June 21.
The Oilers are one win away from evening the series after securing a 5-3 win over the Panthers in Game 5. Edmonton opened the matchup with three consecutive goals and didn’t look back as Connor McDavid led the way with a monstrous four-point effort (2 G, 2 A).
Can Florida finally put this series to bed? Or will Edmonton find a way to force a Game 7?
Not only will this Panthers vs. Oilers Game 6 preview attempt to answer those questions, but it also features my predictions and best NHL bets for tonight.
Let’s dive in.

Panthers vs Oilers NHL Game 6 Predictions & Pick (6/21)
We’re back in Edmonton tonight as the Oilers look to do the improbable by evening the Stanley Cup Final series. All hope seemed gone after an o-3 start against the Panthers, however, back-to-back wins have Oilers supporters feeling confident again.
It’s hard not to question if the Panthers can turn things around after how the last two contests went. After outscoring Edmonton 11-4 through Games 1 to 3, Florida has been outscored 13-4 in the last two. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky’s play has fallen off dramatically as he’s allowed nine goals on his last 39 shots, good for a .769 save percentage.
Meanwhile, Stuart Skinner has turned into a brick wall for the Oilers. While his play has been shaky at times in the playoffs, Skinner has shown up when his team needed him the most, stopping 61-of-65 shots (.938 SV%) in the last two games.
Of course, Skinner isn’t doing it all alone. The Oilers’ best players have stepped up to help cut the series deficit down to 3-2, including McDavid, who has eight points (that isn’t a typo) since Game 4.
Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has eight points in his last two games.
Special teams success is another reason why the Oilers are a win away from tying up the Stanley Cup Final. While Edmonton has scored on 3-of-11 (27.3%) power-play opportunities in the last two games, Florida is 0-for-7 on the man advantage during that stretch.
There’s just too much working against the Panthers to trust them. They’ve looked like the worse team of the two in the last two games and they may have let this series slip away from them. There’s just no sense of confidence at this point.
With that in mind, the Oilers will win tonight and the best bet is to back the Over on the 5.5-goal total. Each of the last three Stanley Cup Final games surpassed tonight’s projected total, averaging a combined 8.0 goals per game.
With the Over being 7-2 in the last nine Panthers-Oilers tilts at Rogers Place, NHL bettors should expect fireworks tonight.

Best Panthers vs Oilers NHL Game 6 Player Prop (6/21)
As far as the best Panthers vs. Oilers Game 6 prop goes, how can we not keep going back to what works? You guessed it — Evan Rodrigues o0.5 (+134).
It absolutely blows my mind that this prop is still sitting at plus-money odds. Rodrigues has been the Panthers’ best player in the Stanley Cup Final, leading the team with seven points through five games. The Oilers have only held him pointless once thus far, meaning he’s now finished with the Over in five of his last six outings dating back to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Just like I said the other day, as long as he continues seeing top-6 minutes and power-play time, you can’t go wrong with this Rodrigues prop.
Best Panthers vs Oilers Game 6 Prop Bet: Evan Rodrigues o0.5 Total Points(+134)
