Predators vs Panthers NHL Predictions & Picks (11/7)
It’s safe to say that these teams are heading in opposite directions before tonight’s collision.
After a brief win streak near the end of October, the Predators have now lost four of their last five games following Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. Nashville is now 1-3 SU on the road to begin the 2024-25 campaign, highlighting just how poorly Andrew Brunette’s club has played outside of Bridgestone Arena.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars in Finland marked the Panthers’ fifth victory in a row. Four different players scored in the win while goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 23 of the 25 shots sent his way. Florida now returns to Amerant Bank Arena, where it’s an impressive 8-3 SU across its last 11 home contests.
Having said that, Nashville tends to enjoy a nice trip to Sunrise, FL. After all, the Predators are 4-1 SU in their last five road games against the Panthers, which includes winning the last three visits by a combined score of 11-5.
The Predators are 4-1 SU in their last five road games vs. the Panthers.
If the Predators want to return to the win column tonight, they must figure out how to put the puck in the net. They’re averaging 2.38 goals (29th) to begin the season whereas the Panthers average 3.69 (T-6th). In fact, Florida’s production has jumped up to 4.8 G/PG amid its winning streak.
Two of the NHL’s best penalty kills will be on display tonight as the Predators boast the league’s No. 1 unit while the Panthers rank fifth. Having said that, Florida’s power play (7th) has been slightly more consistent than Nashville has been on the man advantage (13th).
After Juuse Saros faced the Capitals last night, Scott Wedgewood will likely start for the Predators this evening. The veteran puck-stopper has looked rather pedestrian in his limited starts this fall, going 1-1-0 with a .854 save percentage and 3.54 goals-against average in two appearances.
On the other side of the ice, the Panthers are expected to roll with Sergei Bobrovsky. Although the two-time Vezina Trophy winner has had some shaky performances this season, he’s begun to turn things around with a .921 SV% amid a personal three-game win streak.
Interestingly enough, Brobsky hasn’t defeated the Predators since March 2021, going 0-5-0 with a 4.05 GAA and .864 SV% in his last seven encounters with the franchise.
Panthers G Sergei Bobrovsky hasn’t defeated the Predators in nearly four years. Will that change tonight?
Upsets happen in hockey all of the time, however, I don’t anticipate one tonight. The Panthers are the clear-cut better team and shouldn’t have any issues defeating the Predators tonight. Nashville is struggling to produce offense amid its slump and those struggles could continue if Bobrovsky has another strong performance in store. Throw in the fact that Florida has the PP advantage and it isn’t difficult to side with the home team.
I’m also confident that the Panthers can cover the puck line considering that each of their last five victories came by multi-goal margins. It also helps that six of the Predators’ nine losses to date were by two or more goals.

Best Predators vs Panthers NHL Player Prop (11/7)
If you’re looking for an enticing Predators vs. Panthers player prop bet, look no further than Carter Verhaeghe o3.5 shots on goal (+106).
Verhaeghe excelled at generating offense this season, averaging a career-high 4.0 SOG per game. The former 2013 third-rounder’s production has only improved as the season has gone on, proven by his 35 shots in the last seven games — an average of 5.0 SOG per outing. What’s even more impressive is that he finished with the Over on that prop in all but one of those games.
The good news for Verhaeghe is that the Predators are allowing the 10th-most SOG to wingers this season. After Nashville gave up 36 shots to Washington less than 24 hours ago, I expect that the 29-year-old forward will see enough opportunities to finish with the Over again.
