Tonight is a busy one around the National Hockey League as 10 matchups are lined up for Tuesday, Nov. 28. The biggest of the bunch is the Atlantic Division showdown between the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena at 7 p.m. ET.
The Panthers were just in action down the highway last night, picking up a 5-0 win over the Ottawa Senators to snap a two-game skid. The Maple Leafs, meanwhile, hope to avoid a third straight loss after falling 3-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.
BetOnline’s NHL futures show that both teams have work to do to win the division. After all, Florida sits at +375 odds to win the Atlantic Division (3rd) while Toronto isn’t much further ahead at +350 (2nd). The Boston Bruins, of course, lead the way at -105.
If you’re looking to get in on the betting action tonight, you’re in the right place! Keep reading for my Panthers vs Maple Leafs prediction and best bets, as well as the latest NHL odds and matchup trends.

Panthers vs Maple Leafs Prediction & Pick (Nov. 28)
With only four points separating these teams in the Atlantic Divison standings, it’s easy to see why a win is important tonight.
Having said that, this is the second showdown between these rivals this season. The Panthers previously hosted the Maple Leafs on Oct. 19, resulting in a 3-1 win as Toronto couldn’t solve Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who turned aside 29 of the 30 shots he faced.
It was the same typical result for the Maple Leafs, who’ve now lost five of their last six meetings against the Panthers. What’s even worse is that Sheldon Keefe’s club was held to two or fewer goals in each of those games. In fact, Toronto hasn’t scored three goals against Florida in any of their last eight meetings.
The good news is that the Leafs probably won’t have to face Bobrovsky after the veteran in Ottawa last night. Instead, they’ll likely face backup G Anthony Stolarz, who’s finished with a sub-.900 save percentage in two of three road starts thus far.
On the flip side, Toronto is likely rolling with Ilya Samsonov. Although the Russian netminder hasn’t been perfect this season (.878 SV% and 3.58 goals-against average in 10 starts), he’s played to a .931 SV% or better in two of his last three outings.
Nevertheless, the Maple Leafs haven’t had any issues putting up goals at Scotiabank Arena late, tallying at least a quartet in four of their last five home outings. Auston Matthews leads the way with five goals during that stretch while William Nylander (4) and Calle Jarnkrok (3) are right behind him.
Furthermore, the Maple Leafs picked up back-to-back wins over the Flames and Canucks in their last two home outings, outscoring them 10-6 on aggregate.
Toronto must also take advantage of Florida’s lack of rest following last night’s game. Dating back to the 2022-23 campaign, the Panthers are 4-6-3 in their last 13 outings when it’s the second half of a back-to-back situation.
While the Panthers won’t go down without a fight, I like the Maple Leafs’ chances of winning here. Not only are they playing well at home, but they have a chance to take advantage of the Panthers, who are likely feeling exhausted after 167 penalty minutes were thrown out in Ottawa last night.
With both teams’ goaltending situations being inconsistent, I’m just sticking with an outright bet by taking Toronto on the moneyline.

Panthers vs Maple Leafs Best Player Prop
BetOnline’s Maple Leafs vs. Panthers player props aren’t available at the moment, which is why we’re hopping over to Bovada to take Auston Matthews as an anytime goalscorer.
After scoring just one goal in his last four games away from home, a return to Scotiabank Arena could be exactly what Matthews needs. After all, the 26-year-old sniper has 11 goals in nine outings in Toronto compared to three in 10 road games this season.
Considering how he also has eight goals in his last 13 home games against Florida, it’s safe to say that Matthews has a great chance to hit paydirt tonight.
Bet: Auston Matthews Anytime Goalscorer (-111 on Bovada)
