Boston beat Toronto handily on Monday night and travel home to meet the Edmonton Oilers. Travel on a back-to-back is tough, it is especially tough when the team is waiting. Linus Ullmark will get the start for Boston, meaning there should be no drop off in goaltending performance for the Bruins who benefit from having two quality goaltenders at their disposal.
The opposite is true for the Oilers, who have struggled with inconsistent, or downright awful goaltending for stretches of the season. Edmonton is the better team on paper, but Skinner will need to make timely saves for the Oilers to win tonight.
The Oilers have shot up the Western Conference standings are their early season struggles that saw them below the Anaheim Ducks for a period. Connor McDavid has found his MVP form, Zach Hyman is likely to crack 50 goals, the powerplay is clicking at 30% in the last couple of weeks, and the goaltending has improved to adequate. All of that has resulted in more wins and belief in the Oilers’ Stanley Cup contention.
Tonight’s matchup is somewhat of a measuring stick game for the Oilers who should beat a tired team that lacks forward depth. Their previous meeting this season was an overtime barn burner and one of the best games of the season that ended on a Charlie McAvoy winner.

Oilers vs Bruins Betting Trends
Edmonton has scored 3+ goals in 8 of their last 10 games, Boston has allowed 3+ goals in 9 of their last 10 games.
Both teams struggle to cover the -1.5 spread in their games, with Edmonton covering in 3 of their last 10, while Boston covers +1.5 in 8 of their last 10.
The Total hit OVER 5.5 in 8 of last 10 Oilers games and 6 of last 10 Bruins games, with both teams scoring and allowing 2+ goals in 8 of their last 10.
Evander Kane has gone OVER his shot prop of 2.5 in 4 of his last 5 and 7 of his last 10.
Oilers vs Bruins Prediction & Pick (3/5): Will the Oilers Offensive Depth Lead Them to Victory?
Oilers vs Bruins Prediction: Oilers’ Stars Shine in Measuring Stick Game Between Two Cup Contenders
The Bruins are struggling to find consistency of late and are 4-2-4 in their last 10. They are the beneficiaries of 4 points accrued in overtime/shootout losses, which is a warning sign. The Bruins have struggled to score recently, and it’s likely related to their lack of depth through retirements and injuries up front. They’ve managed to score 3+ goals in 6 of their last 10, while giving up 3+ in 9 of 10. Given the offensive firepower on the Oilers, the Bruins may struggle to keep them at bay.
Given the Oilers ability to score and Bruins playing on a second consecutive night, expect the speed if the Oiler forwards to become problematic as the game wears on. This could be a high scoring game given Edmonton’s current defensive and goaltending capabilities. Both David Pastrnak and Connor McDavid should be all over the score sheet this evening in what could be a preview of the Stanley Cup Final. If the 6-5 barner burner in February is any indication, there will be fireworks tonight and the stars will be a big part of that.
Player Props to Watch in Oilers vs Bruins (3/5)
Evander Kane Over 2.5 Shots (-150) BOVADA
Evander Kane has found his game of late and is able to take advantage of different matchups on the road to hit his shot line. He’s the most consistent shooter for the Oilers on the road and will have opportunities to use his size and speed to drive the net and create scoring opportunities. He’s hit his line in 4 of his last 5 games, 8 of his last 10 road games, and is projected for 3.26 shots tonight in Boston.
Connor McDavid 2+ Points (+100) BOVADA
McDavid has 18 points in his last 10 games. He has the same amount of 3 points games as he has pointless games with two each. The other 6 games, he’s recorded 2 points. 8 multi-point games in his last 10. Getting him at even money or better is great value for the best player in the sport. McDavid sits at 97 points for the season and it wouldn’t shock anyone if he hits 100 tonight, either. Boston has struggled defensively and do not have a line capable of shutting down McDavid. The best hope for Boston is goaltending and given that McDavid has 2 points in last month’s game, he will play a big role in tonight’s outcome
