We have a David vs Goliath matchup tonight in Arizona. One of the top teams in the league, the Winnipeg Jets (25-9-4), come into town to take on the Coyotes (19-16-2). The Jets currently sit tied for the #1 team in the league with the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins with 54 points.
These 2 teams have met twice already this season and the Jets won both games. Winnipeg put up 5 goals in each game while allowing 3 and 2.
In their last 10 matchups, the Jets have won 9 of them going back to 2021. They are 8-0 vs the Coyotes in their last 8 matches straight too. Speaking of win streaks, the Jets also come in on a 5-game winning streak.
Even with missing star forward Kyle Connor, the Jets haven’t lost pace at all. Guys like Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers have stepped up, as they should being big parts of this team’s offense with Connor.
Scheifele and Ehlers combine for 25 goals and 42 assists – major production. Can’t forget Josh Morrissey on defense with 24 assists. The Jets are a complete team, playing both ends of the ice.
Winnipeg comes into this game with a 12-4-2 road record and are 8-0-2 in their last 10 games overall. The Jets are also 10-3-1 against the Central Division. Goalie Connor Hellebuyck will get this start tonight. It will be his 2nd start this season vs the Coyotes.
Arizona started out pretty decent and better than most expected. Their 6-4-0 in their last 10 games and are on a 2-game losing streak. They just took a 5-1 beating from the New York Islanders.
The Coyotes sit 11th overall in the Western Conference with plenty of time to climb the standings. One thing that has been keeping them alive in games is putting the puck in the net. Arizona has a record of 14-5-2 when scoring at least 3 goals in a game.
Clayton Keller leads the offense for the Coyotes with 13 goals and 18 assists. Matias Maccelli leads the team with 21 assists and Lawson Crouse leads the team in goals with 16.
Goaltender Karel Vejmelka will get the start tonight. He has a 6-8-2 record this season with a 3.01 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Vejmelka started both games vs the Jets this year.
With a 12-7-0 record at home so far this year, the Coyotes will look to make it 13 tonight. Let’s check out the odds and get into some predictions.

Winnipeg Jets vs Arizona Coyotes Prediction and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Winnipeg Jets Moneyline + Game Total Over 5.5 (+189) MyBookie
There was a lot of scoring in the first 2 games these 2 teams played, and I don’t see that changing. I expected a high pace game and the Jets to pour the offense on.
Even with the Jets missing Kyle Connor (knee) and the Coyotes missing Jason Zucker (suspension), I still see these offenses clicking. In the first game, Arizona managed 3 goals. They’ll need to play better defense though to win this game.
Winnipeg’s offense has been so good lately that I see them scoring 5 on their own again. This team is firing on all cylinders and are going to want to keep that winning streak alive.
We’re taking this over and rooting for goals tonight. The total being low makes you think the books expect both goalies to be the difference maker, but the past shows different!
Player Prop: Sean Durzi 2+ shots on goal (-140)
Durzi is off to a good start in his 1st season with the Coyotes. He has hit this number in 7 straight games and 8 out of his last 10 games.
Playing on the 1st defensive pairing puts him on the ice a lot. He is averaging 22+ minutes of ice time per game. Durzi is also on the 1st power play unit whereas we say, “he quarterbacks” the power play from the top of the ice.
Love him in this spot tonight. The Jets allow their most shots on goal to the defensive position as well. We just need 2 easy shots and we’ll pay the juice man a little for this one.
