The last week of the NHL Regular Season is upon us as plenty of teams face off today, with most squads having just two or three remaining games (eight teams have four games remaining in the season). Now, playoff seeding races are heating up in both conferences and all four divisions, giving us a very exciting end to the season. Let’s get right in to our best bets on the ice for this weekend!
Buffalo Sabres vs Florida Panthers Predictions

Bobrovsky allows just 2.39 goals per game
Best Bets: Panthers -1.5 (+115) BetOnline
Back the Ice Cats with me tonight at home. They’ve beaten Buffalo two out of three games this season, only losing the first matchup on the road in October. The past two times these teams have played, Florida has won 5-2 and then 4-0, shutting out the Sabres in Sunrise. I think we see some similar play tonight for a couple of reasons.
One, the Sabres are eliminated from the playoffs and two, they are 13-23-3 on the road. This team has very little to play for compared to the Panthers, plus they simply suck away from home this season. Now, Florida is still racing with Toronto, Tampa Bay and even now Ottawa for playoff seeding in the Atlantic Division. They need this win, they’ve been playing very well recently, and they are simply the better team. Florida is 26-11-2 at home this year, they are on a two game winning streak since coming back to Sunrise, and tonight I see them taking down a defeated Buffalo team.
Feel free to lay the (-140) in regulation if you’re not interested in the puck line, but the Panthers score plenty and Buffalo allows 3.46 goals per game, ranking bottom 5 in the NHL. Give me the Ice Cats by two tonight.
Minnesota Wild vs Vancouver Canucks Predictions

Matt Boldy leads the Wild with 71 points this season
Best Bets: Wild ML (-106) BetOnline
This is simply a “who needs it more” bet. The Wild are on the road looking to win the season series against the Canucks, and they have all the motivation. Minnesota has two games left, and essentially needs two points to guarantee a spot in the playoffs. Both the Blues and Wild are tied at 93 points and are fighting with the Flames (90 points) for the wild card spots in the Western Conference.
The Canucks have been eliminated, and they haven’t even played that great at home this year. Vancouver is just 16-15-7 at home this year, ironically much better on the road. But they have nothing to play for, whereas the Wild have been an electric 22-13-5 on the road, and tonight I see Minnesota getting the job done.
While this game is to win the season series and the Canucks will show up and play for some respect, Minnesota is just 3-7 in their last 10 games, and they desperately need a win tonight or against the Ducks at home on Tuesday. I think they show out on the road and solidify their spot on the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight.
