See Picks & Statistics For The GameOn there tour of the Metro Division, the Edmonton Oilers will stop on Long Island tonight. They will take on the New York Islanders as UBS Arena. These 2 teams faced off last back in November for a barn burner that ended in a 4-3 victory for the Oilers.
New York is 29-28-7 this season and 6th in the Metro Division. They’re currently on a 2-game losing streak and are 4-6-0 in their last 10 games. It’s been a tough year for the Islanders with injuries, losing Mat Barzal twice and Anthony Duclair once.
The offense on this team has been just absent as usual. Ranking 9th most in shots on goal, you’d think the team would rank higher than 28th in goals scored. It’s because they rank 3rd worst in shooting percentage which is less than 10%. Another killer for this team has been its power play, which is terrible again this year.
To go along with the bad power play, they have just as bad of a penalty kill and rank the same. The Isles do play smart hockey on and commit under 3 penalties per game, 2nd best in the league. Goalie Ilya Sorokin is expected in net tonight. He is 24-20-4 this season with a 2.77 GAA and a .905 save percentage.
Edmonton looks to bounce back after loss to Devils

Oilers captain and league superstar, Connor McDavid.
The Oilers are 37-24-4 this year and are 2nd in the Pacific Division. They are just coming off a loss to the Devils and are 2-8-0 in their last 10 games. Edmonton is good on the road with a 17-13-2 record.
Their offense is absolutely electric and a powerhouse. Led by a generational talent in Connor McDavid, this team has Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman along with him. They rank 9th in goals scored and are 1st in shots on goal per game. This team is deadly on the power play, ranking 5th best in the league.
Defensively this team isn’t horrible. They rank 15th in goals allowed and 10th in shots on goal allowed per game. The Oilers are opposite on the defensive special teams, ranking 25th in penalty kill. Luckily, they play smart hockey and only commit just over 3 penalties per game.
Goalie Clavin Pickard is expected in next as this is the 2nd game of a back-to-back for the Oilers. He is 15-7-0 this season with a 2.76 GAA and a .896 save percentage. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

I think we see all Oilers here tonight and pay the juice man as Shaggy Bets says. I love my boys, but we have to call it like it is and they’re out matched. This is also a great bounce back spot for Edmonton after the loss to the Devils where they blew their lead.
The Islanders are just back from a 3 game West Coast Road trip. They lost their last 2 games each by a score of 4-1. One game was to the Ducks and the other was to the Kings. I think we see more of the same from the Islanders struggling on offense which will kill them. The Oilers offense is so fast that the Isles need to keep up and not commit penalties, which will be tough.
I like for Leon Draisaitl to have himself a night. I think he records 2+ points which should be around +120. Draisaitl had 2 goals in the previous game they played and 2 points in 4 out of his last 6 games. He also has 11 goals in his last 13 games so sprinkle his goal for around +115 has to be done.
Last play is for Pickard to record over his saves line. It should come out around 27-28 saves and I think he has 30+ saves. The Isles have been firing as of late, and I think they get them off, but we’ll see if they continue to find the back of the net.
