We have a heavy weight divisional showdown tonight versus 2 Western Conference teams. The hot Vegas Golden Knights will host the Los Angeles Kings at the T-Mobile Arena. These 2 teams met once already this year and Vegas won in a shootout by a score of 4-3. That game showed the kind of match up we’ll see between these two teams.
Both teams are off to great starts to the season. Vegas just lost their first game the other night but have a record of 11-1-1 while Los Angeles is off to a 7-2-2 start. This will be the battle of the unbeaten at home and away. Vegas only has an overtime loss at home (7-0-1) and the Kings are yet to lose a game on the road (6-0-0).
The defending Stanley Cup Champs sit 1st in the Pacific have picked up right where they left off in the playoffs last year. Their goaltending tandem of Adin Hill and Logan Thompson have been fantastic. Hill has a 1.81 GAA and a .938 save percentage and Thompson has a 2.31 GAA with a .923 save percentage. Pretty impressive stuff.
Vegas’ offense has been just as impressive. They rank 5th in the league for goals per game with 3.77 and 3rd in the league in shooting percentage at 12.9%. Their defense is more than respectable, ranking 4th in the league for goals allowed per game with 2.15.
Los Angeles is just as dangerous this year. They are currently 3rd in the Pacific division and are on a 3-game winning streak. The Kings will also be looking stay undefeated on the road as mentioned earlier.
They have been scoring machines and rank 2nd in the league for goals per game with 4.27. LA is currently led by Kevin Fiala and Adrian Kempe who both have 12 points so far. Captain Anze Kopitar and Tyler Moore follow right behind with 11 points each.
Quinton Byfield is finally coming into form with 10 points that include 8 apples. He is the former #2 pick from the 2020 draft class. Pierre-Luc Dubois, who has been a little under whelming with only 6 points. There is still plenty of time for him to turn it up.
The team has been playing without forward Viktor Arvidsson who is on the long-term IR with a back injury. I can’t even imagine what this team will look like if he returns. I really like this team this year to be a contender and maybe even go deep into the playoffs.

Los Angeles Kings vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Los Angeles Kings ML (+110) MyBookie
This is maybe a surprise to most, but I like the Kings to get it done. They gave the Knights a run for their money in their 1st match up and I think they do it again.
LA is coming in on this 3-game win streak as well, so they have great momentum. The fact that they are undefeated on the road shows what kind of team they are. They’re gritty and hang around games to get those wins.
It may be crazy, but I think that loss throws the Knights off for a game or two and they come back down to Earth. The Kings are the perfect team to take advantage of that. They match up well against Vegas and have already shown that they can compete with them.
Player Prop: Jack Eichel O3.5 Shots on Goal (+100) MyBookie
Jack is having himself a good year so far. He’s tallied 6 goals and 8 assists with 55 shots on goal. He has really been grooving on his line with Jonathan Marchessault and Ivan Barbashev.
He has hit this line in his last 4 out of 5 games and has 3 goals as well. One of those 4 games was against the Kings. He’s averaging 5.8 shot attempts per game his last 5 games and had 7 attempts vs the Kings. Eichel plays on the 1st line and 1st power play unit, so he’s out there and ripping.
I like this match up as there should be a ton of offense and love that we’re getting even money for it. It’s going to be a dog fight and expect him to be right in the middle of it.
