We’re headed to good old Canada for this one and the Kraken vs Oilers picks are going to be electric. The Seattle Kraken will take on the Edmonton Oilers at the Rogers Place tonight. These 2 teams faced off in January and the Oilers won 4-2.
Edmonton is 40-24-5 this year and 2nd in the Pacific Division. The Oilers come into this game off a tough OT loss to the Jets on Thursday night. They’re 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, 21-11-3 at home this season and 9-6-1 in divisional matcups.
Offensively, this team is stacked with guys like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Unfortunately, we won’t see either tonight as they are both out with injuries. Their offense is 7th this season for goals scored and 1st for shots on goal per game. This team is very crafty and fast, giving them the 7th best power play in the league.
The Oilers have a decent defense to go along with their offense. They rank 12th best in goals allowed and 9th best in shots on goal allowed per game. Their penalty kill could use some work, ranking 18th in the league, but they only commit just over 3 penalties per game.
Goalie Stuart Skinner is expected in net tonight. He is 23-17-4 this season with a 2.85 GAA and a .896 save percentage. Skinner did not play in the matchup in January, so he will be new to this Kraken team this year.
Seattle will try to squeeze out a win vs Oilers with no McDavid or Draisaitl

Kraken forward Jaden Schwartz tries to get the puck into the zone and passed the Oilers defender.
The Kraken are 30-35-5 this season and are 7th in the Pacific Division. They come into this game off a bad loss to the Wild on Wednesday night. Seattle is 5-4-1 in their last 10 games, 16-15-5 on the road and 8-9-1 in divisional matchups.
This team has struggled all season and are not the same team as last year. Their offense is not very good, ranking 14th in goals scored, but 25th in shots on goal per game. Seattle also struggles on the power play, only ranking 24th in the league for conversion rate.
On defense, it’s just more of the same. They rank 23rd in goals scored and 17th in shots on goal per game. Their penalty kill is only 21st in the league and they commit over 3 penalties per game.
In net, we’re expected to see Joey Daccord. He is 23-18-4 this season with a 2.67 GAA and a .908 save percentage. He played in the last game they played where he allowed 3 goals and took the loss. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

Got to go with the team who has something to play for, even with their best players out. I think this Edmonton is still better than Seattle even without McDavid and Draisaitl. Guys like Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jeff Skinner will step up to get the job done.
The Oilers aren’t the greatest team on defense, but definitely good enough to keep the scoring down for Seattle. This will give the Oilers the edge because they will definitely bury a few goals in this one. Edmonton will be missing some speed, but they’ll adjust and play a more defensive game.
Give me Zach Hyman to record 3+ shots on goal for -175 and his 4+ shots on goal for +145. He has been firing with 4+ in his last 2 games and 3+ in his last 3 games. At home, he’s had 5+ in his last 4 games, so with no McDavid or Draisaitl…maybe we go to 5?!? It’s hard to not love +330….
On the other side, give me Eeli Tolvanen to record 2+ shots on goal for -125 value. He has great numbers vs the Oilers, hitting his line in his last 5 games vs them. Tolvanen has also hit his number in his last 5 home games vs the Oilers.
