We have a nice, fat slate tonight in the NHL. The Panthers (17-9-2) will take on the Canucks (19-9-1) at Rodgers Arena. Both teams sit in 2nd place of their respective divisions and are off to solid starts.
Vancouver will look to continue to protect home ice. They’re currently 11-3-1 at home so far this season. They come into this game on a 3-game winning streak and are coming off a nice 4-1 win vs the Lightning.
They’re 6-4-0 in their last 10 games and have scored 4+ goals in 4 out of their last 5 games. Also, in that 5-game span, they had a +6 goal differential, so they’re clicking right now. The offense of this team is total stacked, and their defense is led by odds are a Norris Trophy candidate.
Captain Quinn Hughes has been really leading this team. He has had great support from Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser and JT Miller. Boeser is on an 8-game point streak, totaling 8 goals and 5 assists in those games.
Goalie Thatcher Demko has been on fire and could also be a candidate for the Vezina. He has 14 wins under his belt while maintaining a 2.42 GAA and .918 save percentage.
Florida is coming off a bad 4-0 shutout loss to the Seattle Kraken Tuesday night. They were on a 3-game winning streak going into that game, so they’ll be looking to get back on track. The Panthers are 8-5-2 on the road so they can also hold their own on the road.
This is another team that is crazy offensively. Sam Reinhart leads the team with 17 goals and 37 points. Behind him are Aleksander Barkov, Carter Verhaeghe, and new addition Evan Rodrigues who all have 20+ points.
Sergei Bobrovsky has been playing well with a 13-7-1 record. He has a 2.45 GAA and .911 save percentage. He will look to stand tall against a Canucks team who leads the league in goals forced per game with 3.83.
The Canucks are also the best in the league for shoot percentage with 13.6%. They don’t shoot much, but when they do, it’s on net. Their power play is also 5th in the league and those conversions are huge.
On defense, these teams both allow almost the same number of goals per game. Florida ranks 3rd for least number of shots on goal allowed and Vancouver ranks 12th, but the shot difference is only 3 shots. This should be a nice showdown. Let’s check out the odds and picks.

Florida Panthers vs Vancouver Canucks Prediction and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Vancouver Canucks Moneyline (-102) MyBookie
This line really caught my eye. I’m surprised to an extent that the Canucks are underdogs at home. Demko is expected to start between the pipes as well which is makes me like it more.
The Canucks have a ton of momentum right now and have a great home record. This is the last game of a 5 game homestand before going on the road for 4 games, so to leave on a 4-game winning streak has to be in their heads.
The offense should be expecting to keep things flying. Brock Boeser and JT Miller will be out there causing havoc as usual. Look for Boeser to also keep his points streak alive.
Demko will also be going for this 3rd straight win. He currently has an 10-3 record at home this season. Look for him to continue to be a stud tonight although he will see some shots tonight as the Panthers force the 2nd most per game in the league.
We should have a good game on our hands here and we’re getting great value to make some coin. Give me the Canucks at home to keep things grooving.
