The 2024-25 season will be here before we know it, so let’s take a look at some teams. We’re going to get into the Central Division and what this division has in store for us this year.
It’s a very tight and competitive division. To name a few, there is the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, and Nashville Predators. We’re going to touch on 2 of these teams. Nashville will be fun with all the moves they made, and Colorado will look to contend for another cup.
For the rest of the Central, the Blackhawks will be in their 2nd year with Connor Bedard who should continue to blossom. Minnesota had a rough year and is returning pretty much the same team, so we’ll see how that goes for them.
This is the 1st year for the Utah Hockey Club, the former Arizona Coyotes. Should be interesting to see how the team settles into the new city. They drafted Tij Iginla, the son of former Flames star Jerome Iginla.
Winnipeg has a great year and will look to do it again while the Blues didn’t do anything and are already not very good. Let’s take a look at the current odds to win the division.
Colorado comes out as the favorite to start with +220 value. I think they’re getting the edge because they should be healthy this year, but we’ll get into that. The defending division champs, the Stars, sit right behind the Avs at +250.
You have the Blues and Utah at 22-1 and 23-1, respectfully. Chicago is last with 120-1 odds, so if you like what they did in this offseason, maybe throw a buck, lol.
The real value here is with the Winnipeg Jets at +700. They finished 2nd in the division last season by only 3 points and +700 is insane. This team is not far removed from last year and have the defending Vezina Trophy winner between the pipes.
Nashville is the other team with great value at +440. With the additions they made, this team is going to contend for it all, so let’s get into it.
Central Division Predictions and Previews
Central Division Prediction #1: Colorado Avalanche to Win the Division (+220) BetOnline – Get 50% up to $1000 on your first deposit
Colorado played all last season without their captain, Gabriel Landeskog. He had cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee. Landeskog has injured this knee before and hopes to make his return this season.
The Avs finished in 3rd place last season, just 3 points behind the Jets. They had a great season with Nathan Mackinnon even winning the Hart Trophy. He played every game last season after missing some time the year before with an injury.
I really like for this team to return to Stanley Cup form of just a few years back. I think they have a really strong season this year and will be 1 of the top teams in the league. This division is tough, and it only got tougher this offseason, but I do think they come out on top.
Central Division Prediction #2: Nashville Predators to Record 100+ Points (+100) Get 50% up to $750 Deposit on BETUS for this pick
This team got a real face lift to say the least. They added the biggest names in free agency by getting Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault. Picking up Brady Skjei was also a huge signing.
Skjei to play with Josi is just ridiculous. This defense now has 2 of the top defensemen in the league in the core. Saros should be a happy camper this year with the stepped-up defense.
What do I need to say about Stammer and Marchessault? Both absolute studs and future hall of famers. Both Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe winners.
Before all these changes, last year’s team finished with 99 points. They are going to be much better for obvious reasons, and I think they break the 100-point mark with no problem. We’ll take the even money all day. Like I mentioned above, sprinkle that +440 to win the division.
