We have a Western Conference battle tonight and we’re headed to Canada. The St. Louis Blues will head to Edmonton to take on the Oilers. These 2 teams last played in February and the Oilers won 3-2 in overtime.
Edmonton is 44-28-5 this season and 3rd in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a 2-game losing streak and are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games. Edmonton plays well at home with a 23.12.3 record as well.
We all know this team is filled with offensive guys, especially the best player in the league. Their offense ranks 10th in the league for goals scored and 1st in the league for shots on goal. Although they shoot a lot, their shooting percentage is 24th in the league.
They are middle of the road on defense. The Oilers rank 16th in goals scored and 11th in shots on goal per game. Their special teams on both ends of the ice get the job done, ranking 9th on the power play and 17th on the penalty kill.
Goalie Calvin Pickard is expected in net tonight. He is 20-9-1 this season with a 2.64 GAA and a .902 save percentage. It will be the 1st time Pickard faces the Blues this season.
St. Louis will look to get back to their streaking ways

Blues forward Rob Thomas checks Oilers defenseman Brett Kulak into the boards.
The Blues are 43-29-7 this season and 4th in the Central. They are just coming off a 11-game winning streak and are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games. St. Louis is a good road team with a 20-15-4 record on the year.
Although their offense isn’t the craziest, they find ways to win. Guys like Jordan Kyrou and Rob Thomas lead the way. The team ranks 13th in goals scored and 28th in shots on goal per game. They don’t shoot much, but they make it count, ranking 8th best in the league for shooting percentage.
On defense, they’re better than you’d expect. Ranking 12th in both goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game, this team can lock it down. On special teams, they rank 17th on the power play and are 5th worst in the league on the penalty kill. They do commit 4 penalties a game, so it is a big factor.
In net, we’re expected to see Jordan Binnington. He is 27-21-4 this season with a 2.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage. Binnington is showing shade of 2019 lately. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

This should be a really good game and it’s on prime time tv. I’m going with the Oilers in this one. They need to keep winning to clinch the 3rd seed in the Pacific Division and they’ll want to win tonight with 5 games remaining.
St. Louis is really playing to stay in the Wild Card spot as they don’t have a chance to catch the Avs for the 3rd seed in the Central. Minnesota is right on their tail, so they have to be careful, or they will slip to the 2nd Wild Card spot. There is still math there for other teams to make it, but both these guys are going to the playoffs.
One prop I love is Zach Hyman to record 3 or more shots on goal at -125. We’re getting great value on a guy who has hit in his last 9 games and had minimum 4 shots on goal in his last 5 games vs the Blues. Hyman is also coming off a 5 shots performance the other night.
Another prop I like is Pavel Buchnevich to record 1 or more points for -115. Buch has recorded a point in his last 3 games and also in both games this season vs the Oilers. He has also had a point in his last 4 games in Edmonton.
