It’s the day before Thanksgiving so it only feels fair that we FEAST a day early. Last NHL best bets article went 2-1 for +1.7u and having an incredible 7-2 record over the last three articles. Gobble Gobble indeed. We have a bigger slate than a 20 pound turkey tonight so let’s dig up three gems to keep your wallet fatter than your belly after turkey day.
We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all season! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.
And if you haven’t already be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL best bets for 11/27/2024!
1. Tyler Segui o2.5 SOG -110 on BetOnline:
Tyler Seguin may have been fasting in order to eat tonight. He gets one of his favorite targets in the league, the Chicago Blackhawks. Seguin has hit his SOG line against them in 8 of the last 12 games, but this history goes much further back.
While Seguin is not known as a volume shooter, something changes when he plays Chicago. He averages 5.2 shot attempts when playing them. This is a whole shot attempts more than last year’s average of 4.2 per game. He has hit in 24 of 28 games against them. Truly wild.
And Chicago is a fantastic target for shots on goal. They are allowing the 5th most shots against this season, averaging 31.4 shots per game. We cashed this prop just a couple weeks ago and are ready to do it again tonight. Seguin’s shots are always an NHL best bet when he plays Chicago.

2. Gabe Vilardi Point for -120 on BetOnline:
Revenge can be so sweet. In 2017 the Los Angeles Kings drafted Gabe Vilardi in the the top ten of that NHL draft. After a bumpy start to his career he began putting it together and then…was traded to the coldest city in the entire NHL. Since being traded to the Winnipeg Jets he has flourished, playing on the top line with Kyle Connor and Mark Schiefele.
However, Vilardi still makes sure to bring it when he plays against the team who drafted and later traded him. While he only has a point in one of the three games he has played his former team, he had four points in that game. And he has been much better in his second season with the Jets. Vilardi has a point in 60% of all games this season including a 8 game point streak.
While Vilardi has missed in the past two games, this is the perfect contender for a bounce back. Backup Dave Rittich will be in net. He is sporting a .883 save percentage and has been thrust into the starting role with Kuemper battling injuries. Rttich just allowed 7 goals to the Sharks. Time for Vilardi to feast, making his point a best bet.

3. Mikael Backlund o2.5 SOG -130 on BetOnline:
I can’t quit you Mikael Backlund. We are going right back to Backlund for desert. Some players don’t slow down once they get rolling. Backlund is one of those guys. He will often hit his SOG lines in a large chunk, having several cases of hitting 5+ times last season. Right now Backlund is rolling.
Backlund has now hit in 9 of the last 10 games and we are still getting value from this overlooked player. Over the last 5 games played he is averaging 6.8 shot attempts and 4.4 SOG. Over the last 10 games he has been averaging 6.3 shot attempts and 3.6 SOG. Mr. consistent. Tonight he gets a Detroit Red Wings team who are allowing the 5th most shots against.
The veteran Backlund will often find creative ways to gets shots on net. Sometimes he will shoot the puck as a dump in, to make the goalie stop play and help his team get a line change. Other times he will sit in front of the net and swat away at any and all rebounds. The Red Wings are always a good target and Backlund has hit in 3 of his last 6 games against them, averaging 5.7 shot attempts per game. A perfect scenario for Backlund’s top end motor to hit his SOG prop making it a best bet tonight.
