Colorado’s offense is stacked as we know. They also just parted ways with long time forward Mikko Rantanen and brought in forward Martin Necas in a blockbuster trade with the Hurricanes. Necas seems to be fitting in just fine, notching 2 assists in Sunday’s game.

Their defense is pretty good as well. They rank 21st in goals allowed but are 6th in shots on goal allowed per game. Their penalty kill is middle of the road, ranking 14th in the league.

Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood is expected to start. He is 16-13-5 this season with a 2.46 GAA and a .915 save percentage. Blackwood is 4-4-1 against the Islanders in his career. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

I think the Isles are finally finding their groove with players returned from injury. The return of Mat Barzal specifically has been huge for this team. He has 12 points in his last 12 games, and you can’t beat a point per game.

Another guy stepping up is Bo Horvat. He has 4 goal and 3 assists in his last 5 games. The 4 goals are a tested to Barzal’s return because he assisted 3 out of those 4 goals. Horvat has also hit his 3+ shots on goal in 10 of his last 12 games.

Give me the Islanders with a little plus money. The line the sportsbooks have put out is much closer than I expected. I think the win streak really gives the Islanders the edge. I for one know home ice will be nice for the Isles because the fans should be showing love due to the current win streak.
