Darcy Kuemper’s Return
There were many questions surrounding the return of Colorado’s starting goalie, Darcy Kuemper. He had been out since the Western Conference Final against Edmonton, and he hadn’t played in 11 days.
Kuemper made many great saves, including a late save to keep the game tied while Tampa Bay was on the power play. Overall he made 20 saves on 23 shots and proved to the coaches and fans that he has what it takes to stay in net for the Final.
Heading into Game 2, Kuemper is expected to be in net again. The fans and coaches have gotten behind their starter who improved his playoff record to 7-2. He has only allowed 27 goals in his time on the ice, and is the continual #1 option for the team.
Lightning vs Avalanche Prediction and Best Bets
Lightning vs. Avalanche Prediction: Avalanche 4 Lightning 2
Lightning vs. Avalanche Best Bets: Avalanche -1.5 (+170 at Bovada Sportsbook)
The Avalanche have all the momentum after their overtime win in Game 1. With their offense breaking through for 4 goals on Wednesday, Colorado figured out how to break through the stingy Tampa defense.
The home ice built lots of momentum for the Avalanche in Game 1. Game 2 offers value in Colorado, as they are the favorite to win. They were just a few adjustments away from running away with the game on Wednesday, so they are capable of doing it on Saturday.
