See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe streets will be littered with ghosts and ghouls tonight as Halloween is finally here. However, for those looking to enjoy the festivities from the inside, the NHL has two exciting matchups lined up on Tuesday, including a showdown between the Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs.
This game marks both sides’ return to action for the first time since Oct. 28. The Kings most recently picked up a 4-3 shootout loss to the Vegas Golden Knights while the Maple Leafs return home after losing 3-2 in overtime to the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
BetOnline’s futures odds see both teams as potential championship threats. Toronto is in a three-way tie for the third-best 2023-24 Stanley Cup odds (+1000) while Los Angeles ranks 10th at +1800.

Kings vs Maple Leafs Prediction & Pick (Oct. 31)
While playing on the road can be difficult for some teams, that hasn’t been the case for the Kings.
Los Angeles heads into tonight’s Halloween clash with a perfect 3-0-0 record in away games this season. The Kings outscored their opponents 17-8 on aggregate in those contests, winning by an average margin of exactly three goals.
Even more impressive is that nine Kings players are playing at a point-per-game pace on the road, including Trevor Moore, who leads his teammates with five away points.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs return home after going 3-1-1 on a five-game road trip. They’ve played to mixed results at Scotiabank Arena this season, winning two of three games thus far with an even goal differential.
Fortunately, Sheldon Keefe’s team does have some momentum on their side. The Maple Leafs have picked up points in four straight games, made possible by everyone doing their part.
William Nylander, Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and Morgan Rielly each have four or more points in those games. That’s without mentioning how Mitch Marner, Matthew Knies, and Max Domi combined for 10 points during that stretch, too.
Kings goaltender Cam Talbot will likely be tasked with slowing down Toronto’s offense, per Daily Faceoff. The veteran netminder hasn’t been too special this season, going 3-2-1 with a .905 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average.
Meanwhile, Joseph Woll has been confirmed to be the Maple Leafs’ starter. The 25-year-old’s 1.33 GAA and .961 SV% have played a big role in Toronto’s early season success.
In a showdown between two solid teams, I’m going with the Maple Leafs at home. The Kings have been great on the road, but nothing about Talbot’s play suggests that he can keep Toronto’s plethora of offensive options off the scoresheet.
I do expect to see a solid number of goals, though. On top of the Over being 7-1 in the Kings’ games this season, the Maple Leafs’ three previous home games saw an average of 8.7 goals scored.
Kings vs Maple Leafs Prediction: TOR Wins
Best Bet: o6.5 Total Goals (-130 on BetOnline)
Kings vs Maple Leafs Player Prop
When it comes to the best Kings vs. Maple Leafs player prop bet, I have my eyes on Morgan Rielly recording at least one point.
The Maple Leafs defenseman has been playing great this season, tallying seven points through eight games. He has four points in his last three games alone, which includes a pair of two-point showings. That’s without mentioning how he also has three points in as many games at Scotiabank Arena.
Playing with dynamic players like Matthews, Tavares, and Nylander makes picking up points easier for Rielly than most of the NHL’s defensemen. With the forwards clicking at the moment, this prop is a no-brainer.
Bet: Morgan Rielly to Record 1+ Points (-130 on BetOnline)
