See Picks & Statistics For The GameTuesday, Jan. 24’s NHL schedule features some Western Conference action as the Winnipeg Jets are slated to face the Nashville Predators on the road. Winnipeg picked up a 2-1 overtime victory over Nashville back in December, leaving time to tell who emerges as the victor in the latest Jets vs Predators showdown.
The Jets enter tonight’s contest following Sunday’s 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Five different Winnipeg players found the back of the net while David Rittich stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced to help the Jets earn their second of back-to-back wins.
Meanwhile, the Predators have heated up lately, winning three of their last four games. Their latest outing saw them earn a 5-3 win of their own against the Los Angeles Kings over the weekend, highlighted by a two-goal performance from Matt Duchene.
This game is shaping up to be a good one — especially with all of the betting opportunities in this Jets vs Predators tilt. Here’s a look at BetOnline Sportsbook’s latest odds for the game, as well as a prediction and the best bet to make, courtesy of Betting News.

Jets vs Predators Prediction and Picks
Jets vs Predators Prediction: Jets 3, Predators 1
Jets vs Predators Best Bet: Jets ML (Best Value: -122 at BetOnline) & Under 6 Goals (Best Value: -115 at BetOnline)
The Predators have been playing some decent hockey lately, but the Jets have been doing so for a while now. Winnipeg is an impressive 10-3-0 in its last 13 games and can overtake first place in the Central Division with a victory tonight.
What’s impressive is that it hasn’t been just one or two players leading the way. Five different Jets have recorded double-digit point totals over that span with three of them playing at a point-per-game pace. Kyle Connor leads the team with 18 points during that run while sharing the team lead in goals with Mark Scheifele with nine apiece.
The Jets have also found success on the road, picking up victories in four of their last six away games. Furthermore, they scored at least four goals in all four of those wins.
Having said that, the Predators have won four of their last five home games, averaging 3.6 goals per contest. While that’s solid, it’s worth pointing out that Nashville is an abysmal 2-5-0 in its last seven home games against Winnipeg, allowing five goals in four of those losses.
In fact, the Predators fell 5-2 to the Jets in their most recent clash at Bridgestone Arena back in February 2022. Nashville just couldn’t solve Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who made 34 saves to take home the win.
Speaking of Hellebuyck, he plays phenomenally more often than not when facing Nashville. Over his last 11 starts against the Predators, the 2020 Vezina Trophy winner owns a 7-3-1 record with a 1.82 goals-against average (GAA) and .944 save percentage (SV%) with one shutout.
Meanwhile, Predators netminder Juuse Saros has struggled against the Jets, going 1-2-1 in the last four meetings while recording a 3.51 GAA and .907 SV%. Taking into account that he allowed 14 goals in those outings, it’s safe to say that the Jets have Saros’ number.
Another reason why I like the Jets tonight is due to their power play clicking at 26.7% over the last 13 games. While the Predators’ penalty has been average this season (79.9%, No. 14), they’ve allowed at least one PP goal in five of their last seven games.
At the end of the day, the Jets have been playing some great hockey over the last several weeks and should be able to handle the Predators. With Winnipeg having a decent level of success at Bridgestone Arena lately, ending Nashville’s latest run shouldn’t be too difficult.
At -122 odds, you can’t go wrong with taking the Jets on the moneyline — especially with their being 19-5 straight up as the favorites this season. Meanwhile, the Predators are 9-14-4 as the underdogs.
I also recommend backing the total going under six goals. The under is 15-5 in Winnipeg’s last 20 games, as well as 5-2 in Nashville’s last seven against the Central Division. Considering how the last 10 Jets vs Predators matchups have seen an average of 5.3 goals scored, I’m even more inclined to back the under tonight.
