See Picks & Statistics For The GameAnd here.. we.. go. Once again, the Stanley Cup Playoffs have given us the greatest gift in all of sports, Game 7. Tonight in Vancouver, the Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers in the final game of this series. The winner will move on, and punch their ticket to face the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals.
Through six games so far this series, these teams have alternating winnings each game. The Canucks have won Games 1, 3 and 5, while the Oilers took Games 2, 4, and 6. Seems like the Canucks should wrap it up at home then, right?

Can Canucks Pull Off Elimination Win at Home?
These teams have taken turns winning games this series, but tonight I expect the Oilers to change that. Despite splitting 6 games this NHL playoffs, the Oilers have outshot the Canucks in 4/6 games, and are peppering the net much more often by a large margin. This series, the Oilers average 29 shots per game, while the Canucks put up just 22, posting 3 separate games with less than 20 shots on net. That won’t get the job done against the Oilers for very long.
Especially with the Canucks losing Brock Boeser. Boeser leads the Canucks in scoring this playoffs with 7 goals and 12 total points. He had 40 goals in the regular season as well, and his production will be tough to replace. I think the Canucks will certainly feel his absence on the ice tonight, and I fully expect the Oilers to take full advantage.
Vancouver has had enough trouble putting shots up all season long, especially in this series. The Canucks ranked 26th in the NHL in shots per game this season, averaging 28.4 per game. The Oilers lead the entire league, putting up 33.8. This playoffs, nothing has changed. The Oilers numbers have dropped slightly, averaging 29.9 per game and 29 this series, while the Canucks are only putting up 21 shots per game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If you put shots on net, good things will happen.
I trust the offense of the Oilers much more than I do the Canucks.
Edmonton Oilers vs Vancouver Canucks Best Bets
Best Bet: Oilers ML (-157) BetOnline
It’s Edmonton tonight. The Oilers just faced elimination at home and absolutely dominated the Canucks, nearly doubling their shots attempts and winning 5-1. Edmonton led 1-0 after 8 minutes, but the Canucks quickly equalized less than 2 minutes later. We saw a 1-1 tie going into the 2nd period, but then the Oilers turned it on and never looked back.
Everybody got in on the action, Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard scored in the 2nd period with assist from McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins on both goals. Bouchard and RNH switched roles in the 3rd, as Hopkin’s netted his 3rd of the playoffs with McDavid and Bouchard recording their 19th and 13th assists of the postseason. Later, Evander Kane really put the cherry on top of a victory, scoring to make it 5-1 on a Leon Draisaitl assist.
I think all the studs contribute tonight in a good ole fashioned routing by the Oilers. I’ve laid the juice to win 1u on the ML thanks to our friends at BetOnline posting the best number on the market. I’ll also sprinkle a half unit on the PL as well, again with the best odds. The Oilers should handle business, but regardless I’ll put a dusting on getting an empty netter at +170.
