The Devils are coming off a 4-0 win over the New York Islanders that saw Kaapo Kahkonen turn aside all 36 shots he faced. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs will do what they can to get back on track after Sunday’s 2-1 road loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
As usual, tonight’s matchup contains its fair share of betting opportunities. Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place, so let’s start with my Devils vs. Maple Leafs NHL prediction and best bets.

Devils vs Maple Leafs NHL Prediction & Pick (3/26): Sparks Fly in Toronto
Even though the 2023-24 NHL season is nearly over, this is only the first Devils-Maple Leafs meeting of the campaign before they meet two more times in April. Toronto won two of its three meetings against New Jersey last year.
The Maple Leafs are used to beating the Devils, though, having won 10 of the last 11 matchups between the clubs. While there were some blowout wins along the way, it’s worth noting that each of the last four New Jersey-Toronto matchups was decided by just one goal.
Nevertheless, all eyes will be on the Maple Leafs to see if they can bounce back from their latest loss. The good news for Sheldon Keefe’s team is that they tend to perform well following lackluster offensive performances. They boast a 4-1-1 record following games where they were held to one or fewer goals this season.
Toronto also scored a combined 13 goals in the two outings before the loss to Carolina, so the potential to put up goals is still there. At the same time, New Jersey has held its last four opponents to a total of eight goals, leaving time to tell if that trend continues north of the border.
The Maple Leafs need Auston Matthews & Co. to step up after being held to one goal against the Hurricanes.
The Maple Leafs must also come in with an improved special teams effort if they want to win tonight. Despite the offensive talent littered across the lineup, Toronto has only scored four goals on the last 39 power plays (10.3%) while only killing 21 of the last 32 penalties they’ve taken (65.6%).
Meanwhile, the Devils are experiencing the opposite results. On top of boasting a 40.0 PP% across their last four games, the Devils have also killed each of their last 18 penalties.
In order to keep the momentum going, New Jersey will likely turn to Kaapo Kahkonen again. The Finnish netminder has been solid since being acquired from the San Jose Sharks at the deadline, backstopping his way to a .934 save percentage and 2.17 goals-against average with a shutout in three starts.
On the other hand, the Maple Leafs are probably going with Joseph Woll, who’s been rather pedestrian since returning to the lineup at the end of February. Although Woll was solid against the Hurricanes, he’s only played to a .899 SV% and 3.04 GAA across five starts since his return.
😈 KAHKONEN WAS BRILLIANT 😈

I could see this game going either way, but I will go with the Maple Leafs to win. Toronto has only lost back-to-back games once since the middle of January, highlighting that it knows how to rebound from adversity. The Devils are playing well lately, but that doesn’t erase how they’ve lost five of their last six trips to Scotiabank Arena. It could be another close one, but the Leafs have what it takes to win.
With that being said, let’s take the Over on the 6.5-goal total, too. The Over is both 5-1 in Toronto’s last six games as well as 4-1 in New Jersey’s last five encounters with an Atlantic Division team. Additionally, the last 11 Devils-Leafs showdowns averaged 7.3 goals with seven of those games featuring over 6.5 goals.
In other words, expect plenty of offense in Toronto tonight.

Best Devils vs Maple Leafs NHL Player Prop (3/26)
If you’re in the market for a Devils vs. Maple Leafs player prop, consider backing the Over on Bobby McMann’s 2.5-shot total.
McMann has done what he can to generate offense lately, racking up 48 shots across his last 15 games. Not only is he averaging 3.2 shots per game during that stretch, but he also finished with the Over in 10 of those games. Furthermore, the 27-year-old veteran has pulled through on this prop in each of his last six home games.
As long as he keeps seeing second-line minutes, McMann is a threat to hit this prop any night.
