See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Vegas Golden Knights host the Dallas Stars tonight in Game 3 of the first round of the 2024 NHL Playoffs, and with a 2-0 lead heading back home, VGK should be feeling just fine.
In Game 1, we saw 5 total goals in the 1st period, as Vegas lead 3-2 at the end of one. Just 66 seconds in the 2nd period, the Knights made it 4-2, and held that lead until midway into the 3rd period. Eventually, Vegas won 4-3, even though they only had 15 shots on goal. Game 2 was a bit different.
Dallas actually jumped out to a 1-0 lead after almost 17 minutes of play, but conceded the equalizer before the end of the period. From there, the Knights dominated. Only allowing 21 total shots from the Stars, VGK took the lead late in the 2nd, and sealed it with an empty netter with 35 seconds on the clock, demoralizing Dallas.
Can the Stars make some noise and rally on the road? Or will the defending Stanley Cup Champions take a commanding 3-0 series lead?

Can the Knights Put the Nail in the Coffin Tonight?
Now, we are going to play 2 games in Vegas no matter what, however part of me thinks this series is over if the Knights win tonight. Vegas has one of the best records on home ice in the NHL this season, and they were 9-3 at home in last year’s postseason, including going 2-1 against the Stars in the Western Conference Finals.
Now, Vegas beat the Stars in Game 1, they handled business in Game 2, and tonight I truly think they end the Stars hopes and dreams. The goaltending has not been great for Dallas this series, and the Knights defense has played phenomenal. They’ve allowed just 50 shots in two games of this series, but the Game 1 numbers are inflated since the Stars were playing from behind most of the game.
The Knights are simply a much deeper team than the Stars, and if Jake Oettinger doesn’t improve his play tremendously, Dallas doesn’t stand a chance. Tonight, I’ll be backing Vegas on a great number thanks to our friends at BetOnline.
Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Best Bets
Best Bet: Golden Knights ML (-105) BetOnline
We are getting the best number on the market at (-105) at BetOnline, and you actually get the best number of the Stars as well at (-107) if you prefer to fade me, no offense taken, feel free.
However, Vegas seems focused, they’ve been banged up all season but now they are healthy, and they are playing like a team extremely capable of winning a second straight Stanley Cup. The Golden Knights are 4 lines deep, have playoff experience, and are clicking on all levels right now. I will certainly be backing them tonight, and most likely to complete the sweep in Game 4.
