See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe 2023-24 NHL season continues with a massive nine-game slate lined up for Tuesday, Nov. 14. At the center of the action is an Atlantic Division clash between the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center at 7 p.m. ET.
The Bruins return to action after falling 3-2 to the Montreal Canadiens in overtime on Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Sabres hope that they can at least get on the scoreboard tonight after suffering a 4-0 shutout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins over the weekend.
We’re only a few weeks into the season and the Bruins are already clear -135 favorites to win the Atlantic Division, per Bovada. The Sabres have a lot to work to do if they want to catch their rivals, entering tonight’s contest with +2200 odds (No. 6) to win the division.

Bruins vs Sabres Prediction & Pick (Nov. 14)
Before the 2023-24 NHL season began, many experts and fans projected these Atlantic Division rivals to be competing for one of the Eastern Conference’s final playoff spots.
While that seems to be the case for the Sabres, the Bruins have defied all expectations. Despite losing Patric Bergeron and David Krejci to retirement, Boston paces the Eastern Conference with an 11-1-2 record and its 24 points are one back of the Vegas Golden Knights for the NHL lead.
The Bruins have also shown that they know how to bounce back, having yet to lose back-to-back outings this season. In fact, Jim Montgomery’s club is 2-0-0 following a loss so far, outscoring opponents 7-3 on aggregate in those victories.
The Sabres, on the other hand, have been inconsistent at best lately. They’ve alternated between wins and losses in each of their last six games, getting outscored 20-17 along the way.
It’s also worth noting that the Sabres haven’t had success against their divisional foe for a long time.
After all, the Bruins have emerged victorious in nine of their last 10 meetings with the Sabres, outscoring the latter by an average of 3.4 goals with all but one of those wins coming by multi-goal margins.
If that wasn’t bad enough for Buffalo, Boston is also 10-1-0 in its last 11 trips to KeyBank Center. The Bruins have won four straight home games against the Sabres, which includes a 7-0 win in their most recent visit on March 19, 2023.
Furthermore, the visitors have the distinct special teams advantage tonight. The Bruins own the 15th-best power play and second-best penalty kill, whereas the Sabres rank 28th and 10th, respectively.
If history is any indication, the Bruins won’t lose tonight. Boston has defied all expectations this season and deserves the benefit of the doubt on the road, especially with the club’s never-say-die attitude that’s helped them rebound from losses this year.
With four straight multi-goal wins at KeyBank Center, I won’t be surprised if the Bruins win by a wide margin, once again.
Bruins vs Sabres Prediction: BOS wins
Best Bet: BOS -1.5 (+165 on Bovada)
Bruins vs Sabres Best Player Prop
Taking the Over on Brad Marchand’s 2.5-shot total is an absolute no-brainer pick as the best Bruins vs. Sabres player prop.
I’m actually shocked that his projection is this low. After all, Marchand is averaging 3.4 shots on goal through 14 games. Impressively, that number has jumped up to 4.1 in his last seven outings — a span where he’s hit the Over on this prop six times.
Considering how the Bruins captain has registered exactly five SOG in four of his last five outings, finishing with more than 2.5 will be a breeze for Marchand.
Bet: Brad Marchand o2.5 Shots on Goal (-145 on Bovada)
