Tonight marks the start of the Bruins’ four-game road trip after picking up a 4-3 shootout win over the Dallas Stars on Monday. Meanwhile, Evander Kane’s two-goal performance paved the way for the Oilers’ 6-3 win against the Arizona Coyotes earlier this week.
Don’t be surprised if these clubs are the last two standing at the end of the season. After all, Edmonton is currently BetOnline’s +700 favorite to win the 2023-24 Stanley Cup Final while Boston is tied for fourth at +950 odds.
With a potential Stanley Cup preview on our hands, let’s get into my Bruins vs. Oilers predictions and best bets for tonight.

Bruins vs Oilers Prediction & Pick (2/21): Stanley Cup Final Preview in Edmonton
It’s going to be interesting to see if the Bruins’ latest effort was a fluke or a return to form.
After all, Boston had lost four straight games ahead of their shootout win against Dallas. Even then, the B’s looked to be on their way to another loss before David Pastrnak tied the game with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
Winning consecutive games won’t be easy for the Bruins. The Oilers are one of the hottest clubs in hockey, boasting an NHL-best 87.0% win percentage since Dec. 21 (20-3 SU). Unsurprisingly, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have been Edmonton’s best players, recording 42 and 34 points, respectively, during that stretch.
Additionally, the Oilers have won eight straight home games ahead of tonight’s bout, outscoring those opponents by an average of 2.8 goals per game.
The Oilers have been extremely tough to stop on home ice as of late.
The Oilers have also won 10 of their last 15 meetings against the Bruins, winning 3-2 when they last met on March 9, 2023. At the same time, Boston boasts a 3-0 SU record in its last three trips to Rogers Place, outscoring Edmonton 8-5 on aggregate.
If Jim Montgomery’s team wishes to continue that trend, better special teams performances are needed. Over the last six games, the Bruins’ power play is just 1-for-21 (4.8%) while the penalty kill has only killed off 11-of-15 calls (73.3%).
While the Oilers’ PK has also struggled lately — 10-of-20, 50.0% in the last six games — they’ve scored a PP goal in each of their last three outings, operating at a 33.3% success rate during that run.
When it comes to goaltending, Bruins netminder Linus Ullmark has been solid away from home lately, going 4-1-0 with a 2.59 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in his last six road games. Meanwhile, the Oilers’ Stuart Skinner is 7-0-0 with a 1.86 GAA and .940 SV% in his last seven home starts.
Will the Bruins’ skaters be able to solve Oilers G Stuart Skinner tonight?
In what should be a close game, I’m predicting an Oilers victory. The Bruins are great when they’re on their game, but the problem is that hasn’t been the case over the last few weeks. The Oilers, meanwhile, have been one of the best clubs since mid-December and have been flawless at home lately. Eventually, McDavid & Co. will find a way to squeak out the victory.
For the best bet, I’m taking the Under on the 6.5-goal total. Not only is the Under 8-3 in Boston’s last 11 games but also 5-1 in Edmonton’s six previous meetings with an Atlantic Division team.
The Under is also 8-1 in the last nine Bruins-Oilers matchups, as well as 5-0 in their last five meetings at Rogers Place, averaging 4.6 goals per game.
In other words, don’t expect a barn burner in Edmonton tonight.

Best Bruins vs Oilers NHL Player Prop (2/21)
You can’t go wrong with several Bruins vs. Oilers player props, including Charlie McAvoy to record over 0.5 points.
McAvoy has been electric this season, racking up 38 points through 48 games. The veteran defenseman also has eight points in his last nine outings and is heading into tonight’s game on a four-game point streak.
With the Oilers’ penalty kill struggling and McAvoy playing on the Bruins’ No. 1 PP unit, I like the 26-year-old’s odds of finishing with at least one point tonight.
Best Bruins vs Oilers Prop Bet: Charlie McAvoy o0.5 Points (-102)
