After losing Game 1, the Maple Leafs evened the series with a hard-fought 3-2 victory in Game 2. Toronto held Boston off the board in the second and third periods as Auston Matthews scored a beautiful game-winning goal halfway through the final frame.
Can Toronto parlay that momentum into another victory? Or will Boston spoil the fun on the road?
Another question you might be asking is, “Where’s the best betting action tonight?” Fortunately, all three questions will be answered in my Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions and best NHL bets below.

Bruins vs Maple Leafs NHL Game 3 Predictions & Pick (4/24)
The Game 2 victory was much needed for the Maple Leafs, who had lost six consecutive games ahead of that night. They now look to keep the momentum coming as the first-round series shifts to Toronto, where the Leafs own a 22-19 SU record this season.
If Sheldon Keefe’s team wants to win again, it needs another complete effort. The Maple Leafs made several improvements in Game 2 after coming up short in the series opener, including a better faceoff success rate and fewer penalties taken. It also helps that Ilya Samsonov was a brick wall between the pipes, stopping 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
Some of Toronto’s best players also stepped on Monday as Auston Matthews and John Tavares both tallied their first playoff goals. The Maple Leafs could be receiving even more reinforcements tonight in the form of William Nylander, who has a good chance of making his 2023-24 postseason debut, per The Athletic‘s Chris Johnston.
Nylander set career highs in assists (58) and points (98) while scoring 40 goals without missing a game during the regular season.
NHL insider Chris Johnston would be “surprised” if William Nylander doesn’t play in Game 3.
Even though they’re coming off a loss, it isn’t all bad news for the Bruins. For instance, the Game 2 loss was only Boston’s first defeat in its last nine games against Toronto, leaving time to tell if it was a legitimate or an anomaly.
Secondly, the Bruins have won 12 of their last 16 divisional matchups, whereas the Maple Leafs are 1-4 SU against their last five Atlantic opponents. That’s without mentioning how Boston also emerged victorious in seven of its nine previous outings on a Wednesday.
Scotiabank Arena might also not provide much of an advantage for the Maple Leafs, who’ve dropped three of their last four home games while allowing four-plus goals in each defeat.
Meanwhile, not only have the Bruins won four of their last five road games, but they also won each of their last three trips to Toronto, outscoring the Leafs 13-6 on aggregate.
The Bruins haven’t had any issues playing on the road — especially in Toronto.
In what should be another close game, I’m taking the Maple Leafs to win. Momentum is clearly on the Leafs’ side as they return to Toronto and even though the Bruins have played well on the road, the home crowd should still be a factor. Throw in the fact that Nylander is likely returning and the Maple Leafs are in a good spot to win tonight.
With that in mind, let’s stick with the Maple Leafs on the moneyline for the best bet. I don’t see the Bruins losing by multiple goals, so we’ll keep things simple this time.

Best Bruins vs Maple Leafs NHL Game 2 Player Prop (4/24)
We dipped to this well in Game 2, but it worked, so let’s go with Jake DeBrusk to record at least one point (+108) for the best Bruins vs. Maple Leafs prop bet tonight.
As I mentioned on Monday, DeBrusk loves playing against Toronto. In his last 13 games against the Maple Leafs, the veteran winger has racked up seven goals and seven assists for a total of 14 points. He only finished three of those games without a point and has finished with at least a goal or an assist in each of his last six encounters with the Leafs.
Averaging about 18 minutes of ice time this series, DeBrusk should see enough opportunities to make good on this prop again.
