Winning has been a recent struggle for the Bruins, who dropped to 3-3-5 in their last 11 games with Saturday’s 5-1 loss to the New York Islanders. On the flip side, the Maple Leafs improved to 9-1-0 in their previous 10 outings after Maxi Domi’s shootout winner led them to a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers this past weekend.
Both clubs involved in tonight’s affair are viewed as championship contenders. Boston is currently tied for the sixth-best odds to hoist the Stanley Cup in June (+1000) while Toronto is tied for ninth (+1200), per BetOnline’s futures markets.

Bruins vs Maple Leafs Prediction & Pick (3/4): Can Boston Clinch Season Series?
There’s nothing quite like a Bruins-Maple Leafs rivalry matchup to begin the week. Tonight’s meeting marks the third of four times that these Atlantic Division rivals are meeting during the 2023-24 NHL season. Regulation couldn’t solve either of the first two collisions as the Bruins won 3-2 in a shootout on Nov. 2 before beating the Maple Leafs 4-3 in overtime exactly one month later.
With that pair of victories, Boston is now 5-0 SU in its last five matchups with Toronto, outscoring the latter 17-11 on aggregate with only one of those games decided by multiple goals.
Having said that, the Bruins haven’t been their usual dominant selves as of late. They’ve dropped eight of their last 11 matchups, marking their worst stretch of the campaign. Specials teams struggles have plagued the franchise along the way, highlighted by 12.5% power-play and 75.0% penalty kill percentages during that stretch.
Furthermore, Boston has lost four consecutive road games, having not won away from TD Garden since Feb. 21.
The Bruins have struggled on the road lately. Will that change tonight?
The Maple Leafs, meanwhile, have been red-hot at Scotiabank Arena, winning six of their seven previous home games. They’ve scored at least four regulation goals in five of those contests (all wins) while outscoring their foes by an average of 1.4 goals per game. Additionally, Toronto boasts a whopping 44.4 PP% in those contests while also killing 84.2% of penalties.
Daily FaceOff points to Joseph Woll as the Maple Leafs’ likely starting goaltender tonight. The 25-year-old netminder returned to the crease on Feb. 29 following a near-three-month absence, turning aside 30 of 32 shots in a 4-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
The Bruins are likely rolling with Jeremy Swayman between the pipes. Swayman has been solid for the most part this season but is struggling to consistently stop the puck lately, going 3-3-1 with a 3.40 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in his last seven starts.
On top of that, Swayman owns a 3.45 GAA and .890 SV% in four career meetings with the Leafs.
Bruins G Jeremy Swayman has played to a 3.40 GAA and .902 SV% in his last seven appearances.
Even though the Bruins have had their number lately, I’m taking the Maple Leafs to win on home ice. The Bruins just aren’t looking good lately between their special teams and goaltending struggles. The Maple Leafs aren’t perfect, but they’re playing some of their best hockey at the season while Scotiabank Arena hasn’t been welcoming to recent visitors. In other words, it’s Toronto’s game to lose.
With that in mind, I’m also taking the Over on the 6-goal total. The Over is hitting for both sides lately, going 6-2 in Boston’s last eight games while being 5-1 in Toronto’s previous six. If that isn’t convincing enough, six of the last nine Bruins-Leafs matchups also surpassed their projected totals.
Considering how four of the last five games between these teams at Scotiabank Arena finished with seven goals, I expect a fair bit of offense in Toronto tonight.

Best Bruins vs Maple Leafs NHL Player Prop (3/4)
There are plenty of solid Bruins vs. Maple Leafs player props to chase tonight, however, I like the Over on Brad Marchand’s 2.5-shot total.
The Bruins might be struggling at the moment, but that hasn’t stopped Marchand from racking up the shots. The veteran forward is averaging 3.1 shots on goal over his last eight games, finishing with the Over five times. The Over is also 5-3 in his last eight trips to Scotiabank Arena, averaging 4.4 SOG while finishing with a total of eight in his last visit on Dec. 2.
Since the Maple Leafs also allowed the third-most SOGs to left wings this season, it isn’t hard to see why you won’t want to miss the Marchand-centric prop tonight.
