The Bruins were just in action last night as Pavel Zacha’s goal in the dying minutes lifted them to a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers. Meanwhile, the Lightning return to action for the first time since earning Saturday’s 3-2 overtime victory against the Anaheim Ducks.
Which Atlantic Division team will gain more momentum ahead of the playoffs? And where do the best betting opportunities lie?

Bruins vs Lightning NHL Prediction & Pick (3/27): Atlantic Rivalrys Reignites
As the playoffs near, tonight’s game marks the final Bruins-Lightning matchup of the 2023-24 campaign. Tampa Bay leads the series 2-1 after picking up wins in overtime and a shootout while Boston owns a 7-3 victory that it notched at TD Garden on Jan. 6.
Although the Lightning own the season series lead, it’s been the Bruins who’ve won seven of the last 10 games between these Atlantic Division rivals. At the same time, Jim Montomgery’s team did come up short in each of its last two trips to Amalie Arena with each loss coming by one goal.
Nevertheless, it should be a competitive game between two teams that are heating up at the right time. The Lightning have been one of the NHL’s best clubs this month, boasting the second-best winning percentage since the beginning of March (83.3%) while going 7-1-1 across nine games.
And while the Bruins haven’t been flawless lately, they have picked up points in 15 of their last 19 games, going 10-4-5 along the way.
The Lightning have been one of the NHL’s hottest teams since the beginning of March.
Even though the odds are in their favor, the Lightning could face an uphill battle tonight. Victor Hedman, Haydn Fleury, and Brayden Point are all questionable due to lower-body injuries. Point and Hedman were both absent in the victory over the Ducks while Fleury hasn’t suited up since March 14, leaving time to tell if that changes tonight.
As for the Bruins, Pat Maroon (back) is still week-to-week while Derek Forbort, Matthew Poitras, and Milan Lucic remain on the long-term injured reserve.
It’ll be interesting to see how playing the night before affects Boston tonight. The Bruins are only 3-6 SU on the second half of back-to-back outings this season with four of those losses taking place in overtime.
After Jeremy Swayman started last night, the Bruins need Linus Ullmark to stand on his head this evening. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner has played well over the last few weeks, going 3-1-1 with a 1.80 goals-against average and .938 save percentage.
It’d be shocking if the Lightning didn’t start Andrei Vasilevskiy tonight. Not only has the Russian netminder won five of his last six starts, but he also backstopped his way to a 2.35 GAA and .920 SV% with a shutout during that stretch.
Will Lightning G Andre Vasilevskiy continue his stellar play in goal?
I expect another close-fought game that sees the Lightning emerge victorious. The Bruins are great, but it’s clear that they struggle when playing without any rest. Boston doesn’t have to travel far from Sunrise, but it still has to play at Amalie Arena — one of the most unwelcoming venues for visitors this season.
With how the Lightning have been playing, I like their odds to stand tall at home.
With that being said, we’ll stick with the Lightning on the moneyline. They’ve had the Bruins’ number this season and will do everything it takes to win the series against the Atlantic Division leaders.

Best Bruins vs Lightning NHL Player Prop (3/27)
Nikita Kucherov tends to be a popular pick among prop bettors, which is why I’m taking him to record over 3.5 shots on goal tonight.
Of the 70 games he’s played so far this year, Kucherov has finished with the Over more often (39 games) than not (31) as he averages a career-high 3.9 SOG per game. Although there was a recent stretch where he struggled to pull through on this prop, he’s recorded the Over in two of his last three outings.
Considering how the Over is 3-0 in games against the Bruins this season, I see Kucherov stepping up in a big way tonight.
