Bruins vs Blackhawks NHL on TNT Predictions & Picks (12/4)
After a brief rut, the Bruins appear back on track as they head to the Windy City to take on the Blackhawks.
With Tuesday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings, the Bruins have improved to 5-2 SU across their last seven games. Their defensive play and goaltending have been stellar across that stretch as they held those opponents to an average of 1.9 goals per game — never allowing more than three in a contest.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of that success has to do with goaltender Jeremy Swayman, who has a .929 save percentage in four starts since Nov. 23. Having said that, Joonas Korpisalo also played well when it was his turn to take the crease, including in last night’s win over the Red Wings.
After Korpisalo started less than 24 hours ago, Swayman will likely return between the pipes this evening.
Can Bruins G Jeremy Swayman continue his recently solid play against the Blackhawks tonight?
As for the Blackhawks, they’re in danger of losing a fourth straight game after falling 4-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. It was another lackluster defensive performance from a Chicago squad that has now surrendered a combined 13 goals in the last three games.
Even though the Bruins’ offense ranks near the bottom of the NHL this season, things have looked more promising lately. They’re averaging 4.3 goals in their last four games, which includes scoring half a dozen twice, meaning Joe Sacco’s team could take advantage of the Blackhawks’ struggles in their own zone.
It’s also worth noting that the Bruins are a resounding 6-1 SU in their last seven meetings with the Blackhawks, which includes when the former swept the two-game 2023-24 season series.
The Blackhawks will try to end the bad luck by starting Petr Mrazek in goal tonight. Unfortunately, the veteran puck-stopper’s play has been shaky lately as he’s allowed eight goals on the last 64 shots he’s faced (.875 SV%). He also tends to play to mixed results whenever he faces the Bruins, having gone 4-4-1 with a .894 SV% and 3.28 goals-against average in 13 career meetings.
Can Blackhawks G Petr Mrazek steal a win for his team?
Based on where both clubs are heading, I’m predicting a Bruins win tonight. Boston has turned things around since firing head coach Jim Montgomery and I don’t see the good times stopping against the Blackhawks, who are one of the worst teams in the league this season… again.
Considering how they’ve beaten the Blackhawks by multiple goals in three of their last four meetings, I also see the Bruins covering the puck line in the Chicago.

Best Bruins vs Blackhawks NHL on TNT Player Prop (12/4)
After checking out BetOnline’s Bruins vs. Blackhawks players bets, I’m taking Charlie Coyle o1.5 shots on goal (-122) as one of the best options.
Even though he hasn’t been having the most productive campaign, Coyle is still doing a decent job at generating scoring chances. The veteran center has 28 shots on goal in his last 17 games, finishing with the Over on this prop nine times during that stretch — a 53.9% success rate. More success could be on the horizon tonight considering that the Blackhawks are allowing the second-most SOG to centers this season.
If that isn’t convincing enough, Coyle is also averaging 2.5 SOG on his last 10 trips to Chicago, finishing with the Over seven times along the way.
Best Bruins vs. Blackhawks Player Prop Bet: Charlie Coyle o1.5 Shots on Goal (-122)
