We have the battle of Alberta on our hands tonight that is a little different. Tonight, the Calgary Flames (34-36-5) host the Edmonton Oilers (46-24-5) at the Scotiabank Saddledome with bragging rights at stake.
Calgary has already been eliminated from the playoffs while the Oilers have already clinched their spot. The Flames had a disappointing season as they’re fighting to finish above .500.
The Flames come into this game on a 2-game losing streak and are 3-7-0 in their last 10 games. They just lost their last game vs the Jets by a score of 5-2.
On offense, the Flames lack all around. They rank towards the bottom of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Their power play is terrible, ranking 27th in the league.
Defensively, they aren’t much better. Allowing the 22nd most goals and 17th most shots on goal per game. One bright spot for them in they kill penalties well, ranking 11th in the league.
Goalie Jacob Markstrom has been confirmed in net tonight. He has a 23-20-2 record with a 2.74 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
Oilers will look to continue to stay hot and coast into the playoffs
The Oilers put on one hell of a performance with that win streak. It jolted them right up the standings and in as one of the best teams in the league.
Connor McDavid has been on fire since that streak started. He is currently sitting on 97 assists and is on pace to break 100 assists. This would be the first time a player does it in 20+ years.
Sitting 2nd in their division ad are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, the Oilers intend to keep this momentum right into the playoffs. Although they play better at home, their 20-16-2 record isn’t the worst.
Goalie Calvin Pickard is expected in net tonight. He has a 11-6-0 record with a 2.40 GAA and a .911 save percentage. the Oilers will lean on him tonight to stand tall for a victory.
Let’s check out the odds and get into some bets.

I like the Oilers to keep things rolling tonight. McDavid and the boys have been pouring it on. They just scored 6 goals last night vs the Avs.
Even though they are coming in on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, Calgary isn’t far for them, and they only came from Colorado. Just a shot up North to Alberta won’t add any lag to their step.
I don’t think the Flames will have an answer for the Oilers. Tonight, should be a good night to play Oilers props, especially shots on goal. Expect Draisaitl and Hyman to be firing pucks that McDavid feeds them.
A prop for the game that I like is McDavid for 2+ points at -118. He was hot a few games back, hitting in 7 straight games. Since then, he has cooled off the past 3 games and I like for him to get back to form tonight. He had 2 points last game vs the Flames.
