We got a battle in Canada tonight with the Edmonton Oilers (42-22-4) taking on the Ottawa Senators (29-36-4). Edmonton won the last game these 2 played by a score of 3-1 back in early January.

The Oilers are fighting to stay in the 2nd place of the Pacific Division. They are only 3 points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings but have a 5-point lead on the 1st Wild Card position.

Connor McDavid has been leading this team per usual. He is having another record setting year as he is on pace to have 100 assists. He would be the 1st player to do so since Wayne Gretzky did it in the 1990-91 season, 30 years ago.

Ottawa is pretty much eliminated from the playoffs although it is not official. They’d have to make the run of a lifetime to get in at this rate.

The Senators have struggled all season. They were expected to be a playoff contender this year, but showed early on that they weren’t just cut out for it.

At home, the Sens are 18-16-2 and come into this game off a win yesterday vs the Devils. New Jersey is another team that has started to fizzle out. They are only 4-5-1 in their last 10 games, so we can take yesterday’s win with a grain of salt.

Goalie Anton Forsberg is expected in net for this game. He as a 12-12-0 record with a 3.42 GAA and a .885 save percentage. In another words, he hasn’t been very good either.
