See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Colorado Avalanche head north of the border for a clash with the Winnipeg Jets on Friday, Feb. 24. The Central Division rivals have already collided twice this season, resulting in two victories for Winnipeg. With only four points separating the two foes, many are wondering how the latest Avalanche vs Jets clash will unfold.
The Avalanche picked up a 6-5 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, marking their third consecutive victory. J.T. Compher had his team’s biggest performance, ending the night with a goal and three assists while Nathan MacKinnon wasn’t too far behind with a three-point showing.
On the other hand, the Jets aim to bounce back after falling 2-1 to the New York Islanders two nights ago. Winnipeg has now tasted defeat in three of its last four outings, leaving time to tell if it can turn things around in its return home.
The stakes for tonight’s Avalanche vs Jets showdown are high, but that’s without even mentioning some of the available betting opportunities. Here’s a look at FanDuel Sportsbook’s latest odds for the game, as well as a prediction and the best bet to make, courtesy of Betting News.

Can the Avalanche Finally Beat the Jets?
Despite the Avalanche being the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Jets have had no issues handling them this season.
As mentioned before, the Jets have won both of their first two games against the Avalanche thus far. Winnipeg secured a 4-3 overtime victory in Colorado back in October before picking up a dominant 5-0 win at Canada Life Centre just over one month later.
While the Jets have lost three of their last four games, it’s worth pointing out that each loss came during a four-game road trip.
Now, the Jets return home, where they’re 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. On top of that, they’re currently on a three-game winning streak at Canada Life Centre. Unfortunately, the power play has left a lot to be desired, going 7-of-34 (20.6%) over that span.
The Avalanches’ power play hasn’t been that much better on the road, tallying an 18.8% success rate (6-of-32) over their last 10 away contests. Having said that, it’s worth pointing out that Colorado is 7-2-1 in its last 10 road games while also winning in each of their last three contests away from Ball Arena.
The Avalanche have scored 12 goals in their last three road games alone, which is a level of firepower that the Jets may not be able to keep up with. After all, Winnipeg has been held to two or fewer regulation goals in four of its last five games, averaging exactly two goals per game in that time.
The Avalanche must also try to win without No. 1 defenseman Cale Makar tonight. The talented blueliner is sidelined indefinitely after suffering his second concussion in as many weeks. Makar has been impressive again this season, racking up 45 points in 46 games. Needless to say, his presence will be missed.
The good news is that Colorado has one of the deepest defensive groups in the NHL. Names like Devon Toews, Sam Girard and Bowen Byram will step up until Makar is ready for his return.
As for the goaltenders, Daily Faceoff points to Connor Hellebuyck as the Jets’ probable starter. While he has a 2.35 goals-against average and .932 save percentage in his last eight starts, Hellebuyck only owns a 3-5 record during that span due to his team’s lack of offensive support.
Meanwhile, Alexander Georgiev will likely get the nod from the Avs. He’s been phenomenal lately, going 7-1-1 in his last nine appearances with a 2.62 GAA and .926 SV%.
Avalanche vs Jets Prediction and Picks
Avalanche vs Jets Prediction: Avalanche 3, Jets 1
Avalanche vs Jets Picks: Avalanche ML (Best Value: -111 at FanDuel) & Under 6 Goals (Best Value: -122 at FanDuel)
Though the Jets have played well at home, their recent overall play has led to my backing the Avalanche. It’s just hard to trust Winnipeg when the offense is next to non-existent whereas Colorado has done a good job at both scoring goals and keeping the puck out of its net.
Keeping that in mind, the under on the 6-goal total is another attractive betting option. After all, the under is 10-1 in the Avalanches’ last 11 road games and 4-1 in Winnipeg’s last five at home. With both goaltenders playing well, I don’t see many goals being scored tonight.
