The Kansas City Chiefs will be on a collision course against the Philadelphia Eagles in the upcoming Super Bowl 59. With the Chiefs punching their ticket to the Big Game, this marks a historic feat of facing off against the Eagles for the second straight Super Bowl in three seasons.
That said, the Chiefs had to take out their rivals, the Buffalo Bills, in a nail-biter of a game. However, while the team celebrated their third Super Bowl appearance in a row, speculations have been spreading around regarding the status of tight end Travis Kelce.
Kelce has mentioned in the past that he probably has one or two more seasons left in him, and Super Bowl 59 will see him battle a familiar foe. But that all can change if Kelce and the Chiefs win their third straight Super Bowl.
“I am very thankful that I am here in Kansas City with the guys and then everybody involved in this building,” said Kelce after Sunday’s win. “It is a special, special place and we feel that every single day and we just try to take advantage of it and not let it slip out of our hands,” Kelce added.
Should Kelce call it a career after the Super Bowl LIX, the Chiefs’ tight end has already solidified his status as a future Hall of Famer and a legendary player for the team. Winning three Super Bowls and maybe a fourth, it does not surprise many if Kelce decides to hang up the cleats.
What are the Stakes for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles?
The impending face off between the two NFL teams will have a couple of stakes on the line. For the Kansas City Chiefs, apart from their impressive third appearance in the Super Bowl, they have a shot in history to become the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles cemented their Super Bowl appearance by routing the Washington Commanders in Sunday’s NFC championship game. The Eagles will be making their third Super Bowl appearance in seven seasons.
Moreover, an Eagles win over the Chiefs would mark the Birds’ second-ever Super Bowl title. Their first title came in the form of a 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in Minneapolis.
Which Team Should You Place Your Bets On?
The third clash between the Chiefs and Eagles will surely be a highly competitive one, since both teams have history between them. The teams met in Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Arizona, with the Chiefs winning 38-35.
Since then, the Chiefs have won the past two Super Bowls and are in the running to be the first team in NFL history to win it three consecutive times. That said, various Super Bowl betting sites have the Philadelphia Eagles as the favored team, with a 53%-47% split. This can be attributed to the Eagles’ dominant win over the Commanders during the NFC championship game.
As for the moneyline odds, football betting sites remained consistent as well, with Kansas City being favored at -130. This means that it would take a $130 wager to win $100 ($230 total) on a bet for the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.
That said, bettors who want to wager on their favored team on Super Bowl 59 can do so by heading to the best online sportsbook operators.
