Jets vs Titans Predictions & NFL Picks (9/15)
Each of these teams opened the 2024 NFL season on the wrong foot with losses in Week 1.
The Jets struggled to get anything going beneath the Monday Night Football spotlight, falling 32-19 to the San Francisco 49ers in Aaron Rodgers’ first game since Week 1 of the 2023 season. Meanwhile, the Titans had a complete second-half meltdown against the Chicago Bears on the road, suffering a 24-17 loss in a game that they should’ve won.
While both defenses left much to be desired, you can argue that the Jets’ offense looked more competent than the Titans in Week 1. New York at least converted on 60.0% of third-down attempts while averaging 5.4 total yards per play, whereas Tennessee only converted on 21.4% of third downs and averaged 4.0 yards.
That’s without mentioning how the Titans also had more turnovers (3) than the Jets (2), including QB Will Levis’ horrendous pick-six in the fourth quarter.
Is the Titans’ offense capable of bouncing back in Week 2?
There’s also a good chance that New York’s attack will improve this week. As previously mentioned, last week was Rodgers’ first game in a long time and the four-time NFL MVP will only become more comfortable as the season progresses. Will he put up prime numbers? Probably not, but he could get the offense rolling against a Titans defense that went largely unchallenged last Sunday.
Let’s also not forget that Tennessee hasn’t had much recent luck against New York. Since the beginning of the 2014 NFL season, the Jets are 3-1 across four matchups against the Titans, which includes a 27-24 victory when they last met on Oct. 3, 2021.
The Jets are also 6-2 ATS on their last eight trips to Nissan Stadium while the Titans are 2-7 ATS in their last nine AFC matchups.
The Jets have dominated the Titans for the last decade.
Taking everything into consideration, I predict that the Jets will win this weekend. New York has the better, more experienced team whereas Tennessee is still trying to figure out what works. I also trust Rodgers more than Levis, meaning that the Jets should have a better offensive performance than the hosts.
With that in mind, I also recommend backing the Jets on the spread, seeing as they’ve covered in six of their last eight encounters with the Titans.

Best Jets vs Titans NFL Week 2 Player Prop
Even though I’m predicting a Jets victory, I’m taking a Tony Pollard anytime touchdown (+150) for the best player prop.
Pollard looked great in his Titans debut after signing a three-year, $24 million contract with the franchise this offseason. The former Memphis running back amassed 82 rushing yards on 16 carries and found the back of the end zone on a 26-yard run just 41 seconds into the game. Pollard now gets to face the Jets, who surrendered 180 rushing yards and two TDs on 38 carries to the 49ers on Monday.
While the Titans aren’t on the 49ers’ level, it’s clear that the Jets’ ground defense is vulnerable at the moment. If given the opportunity, Pollard should score.
Best Jets vs. Titans Prop Bet: Tony Pollard Anytime Touchdown (+150)
