Texans @ Packers Analysis & Breakdown
This ones going to be good. Two young quarterbacks, both in their second full season under center, both looking to take that next step and make some noise in the post-season.
Both Jordan Love and CJ Stroud have been fantastic in their 2nd year at the helm of an NFL Offense. Stroud is averaging 262 yards per game and he’s thrown 10 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions.
The Packers are 4-2 on the season and Love’s only responsible for two of those wins. He’s now won back to back games, and he’s averaging 283 yards per game and he’s thrown 12 touchdowns on the season.
Love’s had a little trouble taking care of the ball this year, recording 6 interceptions in just 4 games.
This week Love matches up with a banged up Texans defense; linebacker’s Azeez Al-Shaair and Henry To’oto’o both missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. Starting cornerback Kamari Lassiter and free safety Jimmie Ward were also both held out of practice.
Last week the Packers saw the return of Pro-Bowl cornerback, Jaire Alexander; both him and his running-mate Xavier McKinney have held it down in the Packers’ secondary. McKinney has 5 interceptions through six weeks and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

With Jordan Love in the game, the Packers will be looking to move the ball vertically and down field. Love’s averaging 323.5 passing yards per game in his two games at Lambeau Field this year, throwing 4 touchdowns in each contest.
In 4 games with Jordan Love this year, Reed’s averaging 95.8 receiving yards per game with a touchdown in 3 of the 4 games. Last week Reed finished with 6 catches on 6 targets for just 28 yards and a touchdown.
Reed briefly left the game last week against the Cardinals with an ankle injury, but was able to return to the field later in the game. This week he’s been limited at practice, but if he’s good to go I’m expecting another big game from the 2nd year wideout.
The Texans’ just allowed DeMario Douglas to record 6 catches for 92 yards last week, and 6 catches for 86 yards to Brian Thomas Jr. just two weeks ago. This week the Texans will likely be without one of their starting cornerbacks and without their starting free safety.
Lastly, Reed’s connection with Love is undeniable. In 20 games together, Reed averages 6 targets per game, 58.8 yards and he’s scored 14 touchdowns in 20 games. Over their last 10 games, those numbers jump to 69.8 yards per game and he’s scored 8 touchdowns in that time frame.
Both Jordan Love and Jayden Reed should look to exploit this beat up Texans defense, so this week we’re rolling Jayden Reed’s receiving prop.

Jordan Love o21.5 Completions (-120) via BetOnline – Get a $500 WELCOME BONUS
The Texans rank #1 in completions per game allowed to their opponents, allowing just 16 completions per game. The Texans have also held opposing quarterbacks to a 53% completion rate this year, giving up just 163.2 passing yards per game.
The thing about the Houston defense is, not only are they beat up but the quarterbacks they’ve faced so far I wouldn’t describe as accurate. Outside of Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, the Texans have faced Anthony Richardson, Caleb Williams in his second start, Trevor Lawrence, and Drake Maye.
Maye just threw for 243 yards on 20/33 in his first ever career start last week against the Texans, and now Houston looks to be without 3 starters on the defensive side of the ball.
Love’s hit this line in just 2 of the 4 games he’s played in this year, recording a 60% completion percentage so far in 2024. Last year, Love finished the year with a 65% completion rate, with that number jumping to 67% when playing at Lambeau Field.
This year, in two home games, Love’s completed 63% of his passes and averaging 27 completions per game. It’s going to be a crazy sweat, but this week we’re rolling with Mr. Love.
